5/5 Minor League Report!

AA Eastern League: Binghamton 2/6/0, Erie 4/8/0

Brad Holt had another short, bad, "start" today, giving up 3 runs on 5 hits and 2 walks in 2 innings for his 2nd loss of the season. Josh Stinson and Edgar Ramirez followed with 4 innings of scoreless relief, but the Mets couldn't muster up any offense, getting just 6 hits and 4 walks, while going hitless in 4 ABs with RISP, leaving 7 on base, and striking out 11 times. DJ Wabick had the only multi hit game, while Kirk Nieuwenhuis, Luis Hernandez (0 for 4, K, .286), Lucas Duda and Mike Nickeas (0 for 3, BB, .258) took 0-fers.

Chris Schwinden had a terrific outing today, with 6 shutout innings for his 2nd win. Elvin Ramirez created some scary moments, but Emary Frederick doused out a bases loaded 2 out fire, and it was smooth sailing from there, courtesy a 3 run triple from Stefan welch. Overall, the Mets offense had 9 hits and 4 walks, while going 4 for 7 (.571) with RISP, leaving 6 on base, and striking out 14 times. Reese Havens and Eric Campbell had multi-hit games, while Richard Lucas took the Golden Sombrero. Jean Luc Blaquiere took the only other 0-fer for the Mets.

A South Atlantic League: Savannah 1/5/1, Delmarva 0/5/0 in 12 innings

It was a classic pitchers duel tonight in the Marv, and the Gnats came out on top, 1-0. Dock Doyle drove in Jefry Marte with the winning run in the top of the 12th, and Michael Powers notched his 5th save in the bottom half. Mark Cohoon fired a gem, going the first 9 innings, allowing just 4 hits with 7 strikeouts. John Church picked up the win.
