Adam,
Question......what has happened to Lastings Milledge?
I thought he was scheduled to play for Licey in ther DWL?
Any info?

CP,
The Mets asked Lastings Milledge to play winter ball, and Willie Randolph even said during his end-of-season chat with reporters that Milledge would be playing. But Tony Bernazard subsequently told me that Milledge was not doing it right now, the implication being that Milledge had balked.

Apparently, Milledge isnt going to play Winter Ball now. Disappointing to say the least, but I can still understand. He has basically played a full year of baseball, straight. Winter Ball in 2005-2006, then to Spring training 2006, and the 2006 season. If he needs to regroup and whatnot, then so be it. But I really wanted to see him go to winter ball and try to improve himself. Oh well...I'm a big Milledge supporter, so this doesn't phase me too much...

well i was kinda hoping he'd play winterball, but i understand. he's probably pretty exhausted. i'd rather have him train and be ready for spring training and win a starting job away from shawn green so we can get rid of green already.
ReplyDeleteHey, yeah definitely. Let him regroup, get ready for spring training and the 2007 season. We NEED to get rid of Shawn Green, haha.
