Deolis Guerra is currently shut down with minor shoulder tendinitis. Though he is only expected to miss posibly two turns in the high Class A St. Lucie rotation, the Mets are being understandably cautious with the 18-year-old righthander.
“He came up with a little tendinitis in the shoulder and we decided to be careful with it,” Mets vice president of player personnel Tony Bernazard said. “We’re going to take our time.”
