Binghamton 1, Erie 5

The BMets were no hit thru the first 6 innings, and ended up with 5 hits, a walk and a run, not nearly enough after Eric Brown gave up 5 runs on 9 hits and 3 walks in 6+ innings for his 11th loss of the season. Brown, who's probably got 9 or 10 starts left, has a very outside shot of losing 20 games this season. Ouch. The Mets were 1 for 2 with RISP and left 4 on base. Emmanuel Garcia (0 for 3, .270), Josh Thole (0 for 3, BB, .338), Caleb Stewart (0 for 4, K, .202), and Jon Malo (0 for 3, .255) took 0-fers. St. Lucie 2, Daytona 3, in 6+ innings (rain)

Nick Waechter gave up 3 runs in 5+ innings, enough for the loss today, as the Mets played a rain shortened 6+ inning game and lost 3-2. They got 5 hits and 3 walks, while going 2 for 9 (.222) with RISP and left 7 on base. Kirk Nieuwenhuis (2) had the only multi hit game, while Hector Pellot (0 for 3, .268), Greg Veloz (0 for 3, K, .247), Zach Lutz (0 for 2, BB, K, .272), Stefan Welch (0 for 3, K, .396), Brahiam Maldonado (0 for 1, BB, K, .242) and Carlos Guzman (ph for Maldonado, stayed in the game in RF; 0 for 1, .262) all took 0-fers.

Savannah 11, Hickory 2

Kyle Allen had a second straight very solid outing, this time giving up just 2 runs on 4 hits and 3 walks in 6 innings for his 7th win of the season. Over his last two outings, Allen's allowed 7 hits and 7 walks in 12.2 innings, along with 8 Ks. As I pointed out earlier on MPH, if you remove a god awful April from the equation, Allen's been pitching very well since.

The Gnats offense exploded for 4 in the first, and 7 in the 3rd, riding those two huge innings to victory. They hammered out 14 hits and drew 4 walks, while going 9 for 14 (.643) with RISP, leaving 8 on base. Wilmer (4), Eric Campbell (3), and Kai Gronauer (2) had multi hit games, while Joey August (replaced Rafael Fernandez in the field, 0 for 1, .111), Josh Satin (0 for 3, run, BB, .288), Imbewer Alvarez (0 for 1, .185) and Luis Alen (0 for 1, .133) took 0-fers.

The Cyclones offense had 7 hits and a walk, but were 0 for 5 with RISP and left 4 on base. Nick Santomauro had a perfect game with 3 hits, including a homer. Robbie Shields also had a multi hit game, while Sam Honeck (0 for 4, 2 Ks, .323), Ralph Henriquez (0 for 3, RBI, .205), John Servidio (0 for 3, .212), Juan Centeno (0 for 3, .185) and Luis Nieves (0 for 3, K, .143) all took 0-fers.

Kingsport 13, Greeneville 4

See what happens when your pitching is just average at best, combined with your offense being ridiculous? You win alot. The Mets problem this year has been pitching, as through 24 games, 2nd from the bottom in staff ERA (5.78), and give up 7.63 runs per game. On the flip side, they score 6.83 runs per game. Tonight, the Mets hammered out 15 hits and drew 4 walks, while going 6 for 14 (.429) with RISP, and leaving 5 on base. Darrell Ceciliani (3), Alonzo Harris (2), Ryan Mollica (3), and Kurt Steinhauer (3) each had multi hit games, Steinhauer had a 2 homer game. Harris hit his 7th of the season. Jeff Flagg (0 for 4, run, BB, .337) and Tyler Howe (0 for 3, run, BB, 2 Ks, .263) took 0-fers.

Armando Rodriguez left the game after just an inning pitched, no word yet on why. Chris Hilliard pitched 5 innings of 5 hit 2 run relief for the win, his 2nd.

7/17 Minor League Report! Davis, Reyes (again, not Jose)!

Binghamton 8, Erie 7

There needs to be a rule put into place in baseball whereby if you enter a game with a 3 run lead, and the game ends with a 1 run differential, you don't get a save. Connor Robertson pitched horribly, giving up 2 runs on 2 hits and 2 walks in the 9th, but he got a save he didn't deserve. Eric Niesen started and gave up 4 runs on 7 hits and 2 walks in 5 innings for his first EL victory.

The Mets had 8 hits and drew 5 walks, while going 6 for 10 with RISP, and leaving 7 on base. Emmanuel Garcia (2) and Lucas Duda (2) had multi hit games, while DJ Wabick (0 for 4, 2 Ks, .291), Jon Malo (0 for 3, run, BB, K, .254) and Ruben Tejada (0 for 3, .271) took 0-fers.

The Mets offense had 10 hits and 6 walks, while going just 3 for 12 with RISP, leaving 9 on base. Greg Veloz (2), and Carlos Guzman (2) had multi hit games, while Francisco Pena (0 for 4, BB, 2 Ks, .229) took the only 0-fer.

Kingsport 9, Princeton 12

Yeah, another night of, to be quite frank, simply apocolyptically abysmally massive fail pitching from Kingsport. Through 23 games, the Mets have given up 178 runs, for an average of 7.74 runs against. Tonight it was Jhonathan Torres in his Kingsport debut, he gave up 10 runs, but inexplicably, only 1 earned run, as a 2 out error in the 2nd opened the floodgates for 8 runs.

The Mets offense certainly did well enough to win, as they do most nights, they had 10 hits and 3 walks while going 3 for 11 (.273) with RISP, leaving 7 on base. Darrell Ceciliani (2), Tyler Vaughn (2), and Pedro Zapata (2) had multi hit games, while Alonzo Harris (0 for 5, 2 Ks, .271), and John Freeman (0 for 5, 2 Ks, .164) took 0-fers.
