Jenrry Mejia needed 44 pitches to get through 1 inning plus 2 batters, then was removed due to injury, apparently needing assistance to get off the field. Lets hope we're overreacting, but it doesn't sound good

A Jordany Valdespin error in the bottom of the 7th opened the door for Bradenton to tie the game with an UER off Jeurys Familia, who nonetheless had a great outing, one of his best this season. Rhiner Cruz allowed a run in the 8th to take the loss, his 2nd.

The Mets offense had 5 hits and a walk, against 5 strikeouts, while going 3 for 4 with RISP and leaving 2 on base. No Met had a multi hit game, while Ryan Mollica (0 for 3, RBI, 2 Ks, .286), Joey August (0 for 3, .306), Juan Torres and Richard Lucas took 0-fers.

AA Eastern League: Binghamton 3/6/0, Trenton 4/5/1

The Mets bullpen has been flat awful the last two days, today it was Derrick Ellison, a 30 something journeyman who got roughed up for 2 runs on a hit and walk in 0.1 innings to blow the save and take his 2nd loss. Really, if he's going to put up a 5+ era in AA at 31 years of age, the Mets should just cut him and get someone who doesn't suck to take his place. Ellison's horrible outing ruined a very good one from Michael Antonini, who gave up 2 runs on 4 hits in 7 innings and should've gotten his 5th win.

The Mets offense had 6 hits and 2 walks, but struck out 15 times, 10 of them against the Thunder starter David Phelps. The went 1 for 7 with RISP (.143) and left 7 on base. Luis Hernandez had the only multi hit game, while Marshall Hubbard (0 for 4, 3 Ks, .253), DJ Wabick (0 for 3, 2 Ks, .280), Josh Satin (0 for 4, 2 Ks, .320) and Brahiam Maldonado all took 0-fers.

The Gnats avoided a Detroit Tigers-esque collapse by winning today and clinching their division in the first half. The Gnats scored early and often, withstanding one powerful Augusta rally, a 4 run bottom of the 5th, to close the game to 6-5. The Gnats responded with 1 in the 7th and 2 in the 9th to ice it. Jim Fuller picked up the win, and Michael Powers pitched a scoreless 9th to end things. The Gnats had five players (3 through 7 in the order) with multi hit games, those five combined to go 12 for 22 with 5 RBI and 7 runs scored. The Mets took a 9-4 lead to the 8th inning, then watched the Thunder come back with 2 in the 8th and 3 in the 9th to tie it up at 9. A Luis Hernandez sac fly in the bottom of the 10th plated Jose Coronado with the winning run. Eddie Kunz, Clint Everts and Emary Frederick combined to blow the lead in the 8th and 9th.

The Mets offense exploded today for 18 hits and a walk, while going 5 for 11 (.455) with RISP, leaving 7 on and striking out 7 times. Hernandez, Nick Evans, Eric Campbell, DJ Wabick, Josh Satin and Brahiam Maldonado had multi hit games, while Omir Santos (0 for 4, RBI, .148) took the only 0-fer.

Kyle Allen had pitched very well through 6.2 innings, but then he allowed an RBI single, ending his night, and Stephen Clyne proceeded to allow both of Allen's IHR to score, totally wrecking his final line, which was 5 runs allowed on 8 hits and 3 walks in 6.2 innings. The Mets had just 6 hits and 4 walks against 9 strikeouts, while going 3 for 12 with RISP, and leaving 10 on base. A South Atlantic League: Savannah 4/10/0, Augusta 5/7/2 in 10 innings

Savannah held a 4-0 lead through 7, but Augusta put up 4 in the 8th and 1 in the 10th, erasing the deficit and clawing back to tie the Gnats in the standings. With one game left, Savannah and Augusta are tied in the division, and it all comes down to tomorrow.

Brandon Moore gave up 4 runs in the 8th, then Erik Turgeon gave up the walkoff in the 10th. The Gnats certainly did enough on offense tonight to win, with 10 hits and a walk, through they did strike out 14 times. They went just 1 for 9 (.111) with RISP, and left 8 on base.
