AAA International League: Buffalo 3/7/4, Indianapolis 9/13/1 in 10 innings

Roy Merritt got ripped for 6 runs (5 earned) in the 10th inning today in his second AAA outing, to take his first loss, after Manny Acosta blew his 2nd AAA save. Dillon Gee bounced back very nicely off a rough outing his last time out, he gave up 2 runs (1 earned) over 6 innings.

AA Eastern League: Binghamton 10/18/1, Trenton 9/13/0 in 10 innings

The Mets took a 9-4 lead to the 8th inning, then watched the Thunder come back with 2 in the 8th and 3 in the 9th to tie it up at 9. A Luis Hernandez sac fly in the bottom of the 10th plated Jose Coronado with the winning run. Eddie Kunz, Clint Everts and Emary Frederick combined to blow the lead in the 8th and 9th.

The Mets offense exploded today for 18 hits and a walk, while going 5 for 11 (.455) with RISP, leaving 7 on and striking out 7 times. Hernandez, Nick Evans, Eric Campbell, DJ Wabick, Josh Satin and Brahiam Maldonado had multi hit games, while Omir Santos (0 for 4, RBI, .148) took the only 0-fer.

Kyle Allen had pitched very well through 6.2 innings, but then he allowed an RBI single, ending his night, and Stephen Clyne proceeded to allow both of Allen's IHR to score, totally wrecking his final line, which was 5 runs allowed on 8 hits and 3 walks in 6.2 innings. The Mets had just 6 hits and 4 walks against 9 strikeouts, while going 3 for 12 with RISP, and leaving 10 on base. Jordany Valdespin had the only multi hit game, while Hector Pellot (0 for 5, 2 Ks, .143), Stefan Welch, Richard Lucas, Jean Luc Blaquiere (0 for 3, K, .185) and Mike Moras (0 for 3, run, 2 Ks, .059) took 0-fers.

A South Atlantic League: Savannah 4/10/0, Augusta 5/7/2 in 10 innings

Savannah held a 4-0 lead through 7, but Augusta put up 4 in the 8th and 1 in the 10th, erasing the deficit and clawing back to tie the Gnats in the standings. With one game left, Savannah and Augusta are tied in the division, and it all comes down to tomorrow.

Brandon Moore gave up 4 runs in the 8th, then Erik Turgeon gave up the walkoff in the 10th. The Gnats certainly did enough on offense tonight to win, with 10 hits and a walk, through they did strike out 14 times. They went just 1 for 9 (.111) with RISP, and left 8 on base. Pedro Zapata and Cesar Puello had multi hit games, while Wilmer Flores and Rafael Fernandez took 0-fers.

Chris Hilliard had a very good outing tonight, giving up 2 runs on 3 hits and 2 walks in 6 innings for the win. Johan Figuereo picked up his first save. The Cyclones had 9 hits and 7 walks tonight and struck out 8 times, while going a putrid 4 for 18 (.222) with RISP and leaving 11 on base. Jet Butler, Darrell Ceciliani, Jeff Flagg and Joe Bonfe had multi hit games, while Cory Vaughn, JB Brown, Will Cherry and Taylor Freeman took 0-fers. The only prospects, IMO, to play today were Ceciliani and Hilliard.
