  1. terrific performance by niese, good strike:ball ratio, whip, gb:fb, and K:bb. sometimes those are most important then just era (unless they were smacked and it the wall or something) but nonetheless, seems like a good performance from what the numbers tell us

  2. He's been working on command for the past few weeks, which explains the meteoric rise in ERA from the low 3s to high 5s. It'll take time to lower it, but today might be a breakthrough performance for Niese.

    Stinson, otoh, snapped a string of very good starts. His last 4, he'd gone 25 IP, 26 H, 7 ER, 7 BBs, 11 Ks for a 2.52 era.

  4. I believe he'd mentioned it in a local paper. It was posted in a thread on NYFS -www.nyfuturestars.com which is one of the best sites out there for Mets info.
