    does anybody know what happened with fernando's hamate (i think that's what it was called) injury? has it healed or is it close to healing? will he be able to play this winter at some point?

    He's still rehabing down in the DR in a place very close to the place he'll be playing winterball at.

    I wouldn't get too comfortable with the idea of him playing winterball. There's a very very good chance he won't.

    No I don't, but he did suffer nerve damage (as per a very reputable poster on mets.com) - so he's probably well behind Gomez' pace. I'd be shocked if he played before spring training.

    OoOo that sucks. i no nobody has said anything, but can this injury really affect his career? it will def affect him for the season if he's gonna miss the whole winter and maybe spring training...but who no's...he is rehabbing at his winter league team's place (not sure if he is, just heard it)....Who know's, there hasn't been anything really discussed about this
