The Scattered 5/31 Minor League Report

Rain/thunderstorms in the northeast are reeking havoc on Binghamton's game, while doubleheaders screw around with Savannah. So tonight, it'll be a piecemeal MLR. We start with St. Lucie, where Jon Niese had another bad outing. He's one of my favorite prospects, so I'm a bit disappointed in his run of bad starts lately. But he's got time, as he's 20 years old in the FSL.

St. Lucie 7, Vero Beach 9

Sean Henry (lf) 2 for 5, run, 2b, RBI, .265
Jose Castro (ss) 3 for 5, run, RBI, K, .299
Nick Evans (1b) 1 for 5, run, 2b, 2 RBI, .291
Drew Butera (c) 2 for 5, run, HR, RBI, K, .259
Jon Niese 5 IP, 8 H, 4 ER, 3 BBs, 5 Ks, HR, 5.12 era (3:7:5 go/ao/so)
Waner "My Supplier Gave Me Duds" Mateo 2 IP, 5 H, 5 R, 3 ER, 2 Ks, HR, 7.36 era, L (0-1)
Joe Hietpas IP, H, K, 6 era

Savannah 4, Rome 3, Game 1

Hector Pellot (2b) 2 for 4, 3b, RBI, K, .260
Josh Thole (1b) 2 for 2, RBI, BB, .282
Juan Lagares (ss) 1 for 3, 2b, 2 Ks, .215
Dan Stegall (cf) 2 for 3, run, 2 RBI, .209
Tobi Stoner 5 IP, 6 H, 3 ER, BB, 3 Ks, 3.61 ERA, W (3-5)
Ryan Meyers 2 IP, H, 2 Ks, 1.38 ERA, SV (6)

Savannah 5, Rome 4, Game 2
*Edited at 11:15pm with Savannah Game 2
Greg Veloz (2b) 2 for 3, 2 runs, 2 2b, RBI, K, .158, SB (11)
Leivi Ventura (3b) 2 for 3, run, 2 2b, RBI, .302 (if only he weren't 24 in A ball...)
Juan Lagares (ss) 0 for 1, 2 BBs, K, .217, CS (3)
Julio Polanco 4 IP, H, ER, 3 BBs, 6 Ks,. 8.26 era
Emary Frederick 2 IP, 3 H, 3 ER, 2 BBs, 2 Ks, 6.75 era, W (1-0)
David Koons IP, 2 H, 2 Ks, 2.52 ERA, SV (3)

New Orleans 5, Colorado Springs 8
*edited at 11:30pm with New Orleans
Anderson Hernandez (ss) 0 for 3, run, K, .226
Jake Gautreau 1 for 5, run, .333
Adam Bostick 2.2 IP, 7 H, 5 ER, 2 BBs, 4 Ks, 6.29 era, L (2-4)
Jose Santiago 2.2 IP, 4 H, 3 ER, 4 BBs, 5 Ks, 7.05 era

Bostick really needs to go down to Binghamton. At this point, you gotta do a Mulvey for Bostick swap.

Binghamton 0, New Britain 6

Mike Nickeas (c) 2 for 3, 2b, K, .247 (only 2 hits for Binghamton)
Michael Devaney IP, H, ER, K, 5.02 era, L (2-5)
Ricardo Morales 3.2 IP, 7 H, 3 ER, BB, 2 Ks, HR, 5.28 era

I'd have to say the surprise of the week is Binghamton being 2 hit by anyone. Any other surprises worth mentioning?

  1. i was just thought about this while going through the site, dont know if you can do this since its a blog but along with the stat lines that i proposed before, you guys should try putting a message board (like i said before dont know if you can do that on a blog). that would be sick and would attract a lot of readers
