Mets Sign Tatis To A One-Year Deal

First off, though this is a "minor league blog", I'm going to attempt to keep you guys updated a bit on the off-season. Of course there are tons of site for this, but it's just another opinion, and something to help the off-season pass.

Anyways, the Mets started the off-season out on a positive note re-signing 2008 comeback player of the year, Fernando Tatis, to a One Year Deal. Tatis, who will turn 34 in January, hit .297/.369./.484 for the Mets last year, despite hitting just .242 in New Orleans prior to his call-up.

Tatis shocked the world last year and I think it says something about his character that he re-signed this quickly to a one year deal. No, we don't know how much money he'll be making yet, but I get the feeling this is Tatis' way of thanking Minaya for giving him a chance when nobody else would.

I'm glad to have Tatis back.. he's the passionate, firey, and not to metion clutch, player that this team needs more of.
