EL AA: Binghamton 1/10/1, Altoona 6/11/0

Michael Antonini had an awful end to his 2009 season, giving up 6 runs (5 earned, Rafael Arroyo error) on 11 hits in 7 innings to take his 5th loss in AA.

The Mets offense had 10 hits and 3 walks, while going 1 for 6 with RISP and leaving 8 on base. Kirk Nieuwenhuis only had one hit tonight (demote him to the GCL!). FSL A+: St. Lucie 2/7/1, Palm Beach 1/4/0

John Maine began rehabbing again tonight, he pitched 4 shutout innings for the Mets, giving up 2 hits while striking out 6 and walking 1. One would assume he would 2 more rehab starts, and then rejoin the Mets sometime near the 20th, barring setbacks (for what purpose, who the hell knows? Ditto Carlos Beltran...)

William Rackel picked up the win with 2 scoreless innings to end the game. The Mets had 7 hits and 2 walks, while going 0 for 7 with RISP and leaving 7 on base. Reese Havens was HBP in his third PA and left the game for a PR (most likely being overtly cautious considering the Mets are fighting for nothing and it's the final weekend of the season). Hector Pellot had the lone multi hit game. Josh Satin (0 for 3, K, .389), Sean Ratliff (0 for 4, K, .304), and Francisco Pena (0 for 3, BB, 2 Ks, .224) all took 0-fers.

Zach Von Tersch's lone Sally League outing of the season was a decent one, he gave up 3 runs on 3 hits and 2 walks in 6 innings for a ND, after Marcos Tabata came in and allowed an UER in the 8th to blow the save. John Church allowed a run in the 9th to take his 3rd loss.

The Gnats had 6 hits, but drew 5 walks while going 1 for 10 with RISP and leaving 8 on base. Raul Reyes (2) had the only multi hit game, while Wilmer Flores, Nick Giarraputo (0 for 4, K, .382), Mike Moras (0 for 3, run, BB, .308), and Joey August (0 for 3, RBI, BB, K, .210) all took 0-fers.

Carlos Beltran played the full game in CF today, going 1 for 5 with an RBI and K.

Darin Gorski's uneven 2009 pro season continued with a good outing tonight, he gave up a run on a hit and 4 walks in 5.2 innings (too many walks, but whatever), but took a ND after Jake Goldberg gave up a pair of runs in the 8th. Michael Powers picked up the win with a scoreless 9th inning.

The Conies offense had 11 hits and 3 walks, while going 1 for 9 (.111) with RISP, and leaving 9 on base. Jordany Valdespin (2) and Ralph Henriquez (3) had multi hit games, while Richard Lucas (0 for 4, K, .246) took the only 0-fer.
