i no pelfrey didnt pitch yesterday, but is there any reports on him and how he's doing...like specifically what he's working on??
ReplyDeleteI'd imagine, or hope, that he is working on his secondary pitches, particularly his slider.
ReplyDeleteTake a look at John Maine, he didn't have the best slider in the world early this season, and it's still not exactly a plus pitch, but he's got 11 wins and a 3 era with it. Pelfrey's got a much better fastball then Maine does.
Pelfrey did look better in his last stint up here, and continued work on his slider/changeup should make him into a much better pitcher.
Especially now that he's back to throwing 95-97 with that fastrball.
