Jacob Ruckle got oblierated for 9 runs on 7 hits and 3 walks in 2.2 innings for his 2nd EL loss, but unlike last night, the Mets bullpen tonight held Erie right there (granted, it was 9-0, lol), with Jim Warden and Emary Frederick combining for 3 hit relief over 5.1 innings, and the Mets did get the tying run to the plate in the 9th inning, but Caleb Stewart popped out to end the game.
The Mets hammered out 13 hits and drew 3 walks, but were just 3 for 12 with RISP and left 10 on base. Emmauel Garcia (2), Ruben Tejada (2), Ike Davis (3), and DJ Wabick (2) had multi hit games, while Josh Thole (0 for 5, 2 Ks, .337) took the only 0-fer - I can hear the people on the chatbox at MPH now...

He was in line for the win, until the bullpen came in and blew it to hell, giving up 4 runs in 1.1 innings. Rhiner Cruz in particular had a very bad outing, coming in with 2 outs and the bases loaded in the 8th, and walking in 2 runs.
The Gnats offense had 9 hits and 2 walks, while going 2 for 8 with RISP, leaving 5 on base. Josh Satin (2), Jefry Marte (2) and Imbewer Alvarez (3) had multi hit games, while Raul Reyes (0 for 4, BB, 2 Ks, .247), Wilmer Flores, Jordan Abruzzo (0 for 4, 2 Ks, .203), and Kai Gronauer (0 for 4, .245) all took 0-fers.

Darin Gorski had a perfect game thru 4, but ended up giving up 4 runs on 4 hits and a walk in 6 innings. Brandon Sage picked up the win with 2 scoreless innings in relief, Michael Powers bounced back from last night's hiccup with a perfect 9th, striking out a pair for his 7th save.
The Conies offense had just 7 hits, but drew 6 walks and went 3 for 9 with RISP, leaving 7 on base. Justin Garber (0 for 3, BB, 2 Ks, .222), Luis Rivera (0 for 2, 2 BBs, K, .320), Juan Centeno (0 for 4, 2 Ks, .158) and Luis Nieves (0 for 4, K, .143) took 0-fers, while Tyler Vaughn (2), and Ralph Henriquez (2) had multi hit games.

I know the Wilpons demand the Cyclones win, at virtually all costs (including prospect development), but that makes it very very difficult to judge players on the Cyclones. For example, Brandon Moore at 23 has a 1.32 era in 6 starts spanning 41 innings, but what exactly does it mean? Is he taking advantage of younger competition, or is he a real prospect? Ditto James Fuller (age 22, 1.75 era), Luis Rivera (age 22 3/4, .320, .943 OPS), Tyler Vaughn (age 24, .357, .844 OPS), just to name a few. And that's why I am down on Brooklyn, it's due to the Wilpons ridiculously idiotic love for Brooklyn, and the fact they have to win at all costs, resulting in an average roster age of around 2-3 years older then any of the other NYPL teams.

Same old same old. At least Angel Cuan wasn't a culprit tonight, he turned in a second straight good outing, this time going just 5 innings, but they were shutout innings, Cuan's allowed just a a run on 9 hits in his last 2 outings, spanning 11 innings, after getting off to a miserable start in his first 5 stateside starts. Zach Von Tersch allowed 3 runs in 0.1 innings to blow the save, and Brian Needham allowed 3 runs in 1.2 innings to take the loss. GOOOO PITCHERS!
The offense kept on keeping on, with 8 hits and a walk, while going 2 for 6 with RISP, leaving 3 on base.
