Brandon Moore had a very subpar outing today, the worst of his season. he got pounded for 5 runs on 7 hits and 3 walks in 4.1 innings, but the Conies had their hitting shoes on today, and overcame his awful pitching, and that of Mike Johnson (3 runs in 1.1 innings) to squeak out a 10-9 win. Erik Turgeon allowed one of Johnson's IHR to score in the 7th to tie the game at 8, and after the Cyclones put up a pair in the top of the 8th, he got the win. Matias Carrillo allowed a run in the 9th, but picked up his first save.

The Conies offense had 10 hits and 5 walks, and also took advantage of 7 Yankee errors, including 4 by their second baseman. They were 5 for 19 (.263) with RISP, and they left 10 on base. Dock Doyle (2), Sam Honeck (2), and Tyler Vaughn had multi hit games, while Luis Rivera (0 for 4, 2 runs, RBI, BB, K, .307), and Matt Gaski (0 for 4, BB, .178) took 0-fers.

Kingsport 3, Elizabethon 6

Yohan Almonte's second Appy League start was a definite step in the right direction. After having the roof cave in and the building implode on him in his last outing in the 5th inning (5 hits, BB, 6 runs), this time, he gave up 3 runs in the 6th inning, after 5 good shutout innings. Bobby Gagg (I will spare you the 1000 awful jokes about him choking up the game) gave up 4 hits and 3 runs (1 earned) in the top of the 11th to take the loss.

The Mets offense had 8 hits, but drew 7 walks, however, they were just 1 for 13 (.077) with RISP, and left 13 on base. Tyler Howe (0 for 3, .255), and Gerad Mochizuki (0 for 5, 3 Ks, .207) took 0-fers, while Richard Lucas (2) had the only multi hit game.
