Brad Holt had a very mixed outing tonight, on one hand, he gave up 3 runs on 3 hits and a walk, on the other, he struck out 10 in 5 innings to take his 3rd loss. Ike Davis homered to account for the only BMet run, it is Davis' 3rd homer in his last 4 games. However, none have been hit off lefties, and Davis is 3 for 18 vs LHP in AA (.167/.286/.222/.508). He, Lucas Duda and Josh Petersen had the only hits for the Mets.

It was a back and forth seesaw affair tonight, which saw the Mets trail 5-0, then 6-1 before tying it in the 5th, only to fall behind 7-6, then take the lead with 2 in the 8th, only to see Manuel Alvarez allow the tying run (8-8), only to see a walkoff single by Hector Pellot.

Scott Moviel got blitzed for 8 hits and 6 runs (5 earned) in just 3.1 innings. Alvarez blew the save and got the win, his 3rd.

The Mets offense had 11 hits and drew 8 walks, while going 6 for 16 (.375) with RISP, leaving 12 on base. The boxscore is incorrect, I have the correct pitching lines below.

Allen had a very uneven outing, outside of 2 homers, he was dinked and dunked to death, and wasn't even in the game when 1 of the 3 runs he gave up scored. Still, giving up 2 homers as a groundball pitcher isn't a good sign, but it happens (Pelfrey gave up 3 in Cincy...). Overall, Allen gave up 4 runs, 3 earned in 5 innings for his 5th loss. He has a woeful 5.44 era as a starter this year in 48 innings pitched, and a stellar 2.49 era as a reliever in 25.1 innings pitched. All of his periphials are in line, however, except for a .202 BAA relieving, and a .290 starting (attributable to Savannah's woeful defense).

The Gnats offense had 7 hits and 2 walks, while going 2 for 7 (.286) with RISP, leaving 6 on base. Jefry Marte and Josh Satin had multi hit games, while Wilmer, Eric Campbell (0 for 4, K, .255), Jordan Abruzzo (0 for 3, BB, 2 Ks), Jose Jimenez (0 for 2, .111) and Evan LeBlanc (0 for 4, 2 Ks, .128) took 0-fers.

Ronnie jinxed them. Brooklyn lost for just the 3rd time in 19 games, 5-4. Michael Powers took the loss, giving up a run, after being pushed to a 3rd inning (he's normally a 1 inning reliever). Wes Wrenn started and was terrific, giving up a run on 7 hits in 6 innings, but Sam Martinez gave up 3 runs without retiring a batter (Matias Carrillo allowed 2 of his 3 IHR to score).

The offense had just 11 hits and 3 walks, while going 2 for 9 with RISP and leaving 10 on base. The Mets tried this whole "score 10" thing again, this time coming out on the right side with a win. 5 players had multi hit games, led by Pedro Zapata's 4 hit game out of the 8 hole, as every regular had a hit, totalling up to a 16 hit 7 walk outburst. The Mets went 6 for 18 with RISP, leaving 11 on base.

Angel Cuan got pounded for 10 hits and 6 runs (4 earned) over 5 innings, but his offense bailed him out. Sam Taveras, working 3 innings for a second straight outing, picked up the win, despite giving up a run. Travis Babin picked up his second save.
