Tobi Stoner got ripped for 5 runs on 5 hits and 5 walks in 6 innings for his second IL loss of the season tonight. Kiko Calero had a clean 2 innings in relief, striking out 4. The Bisons offense had 9 hits and drew 4 walks while going a pitiful 1 for 13 (.077), leaving 10 on base, and striking out 7 times. Jason Pridie and Ruben Tejada had multi hit games, while Fernando Martinez, Chris Carter, and Omir Santos (0 for 4, 4 Ks, .150) took 0-fers.

Josh Stinson had another excellent long relief outing tonight in back of Eric Niesen, who, for some reason, went just 1.1 innings tonight (he gave up 2 runs on 2 hits and 2 walks). Stinson went 4.2 stellar innings, allowing just 2 hits and a walk to pick up his second win of the season. Derrick Ellison escaped a bases loaded jam for his first save.

Kirk Nieuwenhuis had another big night (no, not 5 hits, he can't do that everyday!), with 2 hits and a walk, leading the BMets attack. He had the only multi hit game, while a big swath in the middle of the order (3 through 7) took 0-fers, combining to go 0 for 16 with 3 walks. Nick Evans, Lucas Duda, Zach Lutz, Brahiam Maldondo, Mike Nickeas (0 for 2, .150), and Luke Montz (0 for 2, .200) all took 0-fers. The Mets went just 1 for 7 (.143) with RISP and left 7 on base, while drawing 7 walks and striking out 3 times.

Kyle Allen took the mound tonight with a purpose, win, and he did, scattering 3 hits and 2 walks over 5 innings, allowing 2 runs, and picking up his second win of the season. Just before this report was posted, I received word that Kyle would like to dedicate tonight's victory to his grandfather, who is battling cancer in a Houston hospital. Of course, we here at MPH send out our well wishes to Grandpa Allen and hope for a speedy recovery. Kyle would also like to say that his goal this season is to beat other teams the same way his grandfather is going to beat this cancer.

Manuel Alvarez picked up his fifth save of the season with a scoreless 9th. The Mets offense backed Kyle with 9 hits and 7 walks, though they did strike out 11 times, go a putrid 3 for 15 (.200) with RISP, and leave 11 on base. The top 2 in the order, Emmanuel Garcia (0 for 3, 2 BBs, 2 Ks, .263), and Matt Bouchard (0 for 5, 2 Ks, .118) took 0-fers, along with Eric campbell (0 for 4, run, .256), and Richard Lucas. Josh Satin (2), Sean Ratliff (2), and Stefan Welch (3) had multi hit games.

The Gnats offense had 7 hits and drew 3 walks, while going 2 for 10 with RISP, leaving 5 on base, and striking out 10 times. Rafael Fernandez and Alonzo Harris each had multi hit games, while Pedro Zapata, a day after his big 4 hit game, took an 0-fer (but with 2 walks).
