The Bisons had their first big offensive game of the season (the first of many, especially when Ruben Tejada gets there), with 7 hits and 7 walks. They trailed 6-2 after 5 innings, but 2 in the 6th, 1 in the 7th and 2 in the 8th led them to victory. Fernando Martinez (2), and Mike Cervanek (2) had multi hit games for the Bisons, while Josh Thole (0 for 4, BB, K, .000), Mike Hessman (0
for 3, run, 2 BBs, K, .000), Russ Adams (0 for 3, .167) and LUis Hernandez (0 for 3, run, BB, K, .000) took 0-fers.
RA Dickey was awful in his season debut, giving up 6 runs (4 earned) on 9 hits and 3 walks in just 4.2 innings, but the bullpen was outstanding, giving up just 2 hits and 3 walks in 4.1 innings,
allowing the offense the chance to come back. Kiko Calero picked up the win with 1.2 scoreless innings, Elmer Dessens picked up the save.

The Mets were down 7-3 after 5, rallied for 2 in the 6th and 1 in the 9th, but fell short, losing their opener 7-6. Nick Evans (2), and Shawn Riggans (2) had multi hit games, while DJ Wabick (0 for 5, RBI, K) and Jose Coronado (0 for 3, K) took 0-fers.
Eric Niesen started and wasn't very effective, giving up 3 runs on 4 hits and 2 walks in 4 innings to take the loss. Derrick Ellison came in and was pathetic, giving up 4 runs on 3 hits, a walk
and a homer in an inning. Josh Stinson made his AA debut with 2 scoreless innings of relief.

Dylan Owen was outstanding tonight for the Mets in his season debut, firing 5 no hit innings to lead the Mets to their first win of the season. He was backed by a HUGE game out of the leadoff
spot by Kirk Nieuwenhuis, who had 3 singles and an RBI. Jose Coronado (2) had the other multi hit game, in between were a ton of 0-fers.

Jordany Valdespin (2), Brahiam Maldonado (2), Richard Lucas (2), Josh Satin (3), and Jean-Luc Blaquiere (2) all had multi-hit games, while Eric Campbell (0 for 5, .000), Stefan Welch (0 for 3, BB, .167), and Raul Reyes (0 for 4, 2 Ks, .000) took 0-fers.
Robert Carson's first high A start was marred by control issues, but he only gave up 1 run. Rhiner Cruz got bombed for 4 in the 7th to take the loss, he failed to record an out.

Rafael Fernandez and Wilmer Flores had multi-hit games for the Gnats, while Jeff Flagg (0 for 4, K, .375), Cesar Puello (0 for 4, 2 Ks, .143), and Luis Rivera (0 for 3, run, .000) took 0-fers. Keep in mind Puello usually starts off slow at a new level, then proceeds to demolish it (see 2008 GCL, 2009 Kingsport).
