4/26 Minor League Report!

Question for everyone, how many of you are reading this on Google Reader right now? I use the colors to a) seperate each game by highlighting the linescore, and b) highlight the players of the night, which I didn't used to do, and I think it does make a big difference if you read it on the blog proper, but if most of you guys use Reader...I'll try and work with you to choose some colors which don't give that app problems. Comment this post, use the chat box, or tweet at me.

AAA International League: Buffalo 1/6/0, Pawtucket 5/6/1

Mike Hessman (0 for 4, K, .274), Omir Santos (0 for 4, .125), and Andy Green (0 for 2, RBI, BB, .417) took 0-fers, no Bison had a multi hit game.

A South Atlantic League: Savannah 2/11/6, Hickory 11/18/2

Six Gnat errors led to 4 unearned runs tonight, not that that mattered much, as the pitching staff gave up plenty on their own (mostly the first two pitchers). Brandon Moore took the loss after giving up 6 hits and 6 runs (4 earned) in 3 innings. After Lance Hoge was equally terrible (4 runs, 2 earned on 7 hits in 2 innings), Collin McHugh came in and pitched very well, giving up just a run on 5 hits in 4 innings, but it was way too little, way too late (he should've tried hitting a pair of grand slams, lol).

The Gnats offense had 11 hits and drew a pair of walks, but were a woeful 1 for 16 (.056) with RISP and left a dozen on base, while striking out 10 times, including 3 by Wilmer, which raised his K total by 50% (from 6 to 9). Juan Lagares, Cesar Puello and Alex Gregory had multi hit games, while Wilmer took the only 0-fer.

cf Pedro Zapata 1 for 5, 2 Ks, .274, SB (7)
lf Juan Lagares 2 for 5, 2 2b (5), RBI, K, .280
