4/28 Minor League Report! LUTZ, GUZMAN, WILMER, AR. RODRIGUEZ!

AAA International League: Buffalo 2/9/0, Durham 9/10/0

Tobi Stoner had a rough outing tonight, giving up 4 runs on 6 hits, including 3 homers, for his 3rd loss of the season. Bobby Parnell, in his first outing since leaving to deal with a personal issue on the 22nd, got ripped for 2 runs on 3 hits and 2 walks in 1.2 innings. The Bisons offense had 9 hits and a walk, but were just 2 for 9 (.222) with RISP and left 7 on base, while striking out 6 times.

Jesus Feliciano and Chris Carter both had multi hit games, while Mike Jacobs (0 for 4, 2 Ks, .263), Russ Adams (0 for 4, K, .289), Josh Thole (ejected in the 7th inning), and Ruben Tejada all took 0-fers.

Zach Lutz had been slumping coming into today's game, he was 3 for his last 27 with 9 Ks, but broke out in a huge way with 3 hits, including his 4th double and 6th homer, drove in 3, and lead a 13 hit, 2 walk attack as the Mets steamrolled the SeaDogs 9-3. Kirk Nieuwenhuis, Lucas Duda, Luke Montz and Carlos Guzman also had multi hit games, while Jose Coronado (0 for 4, K, .235), Brahiam Maldonado (0 for 4, K, .125) and Hector Pellot (0 for 4, 2 Ks, .160) took 0-fers. The Mets were 7 for 14 with RISP, left 6 on base and struck out 9 times.

Eddie Kunz started tonight and had the same control issues that he's been having all season, with 3 walks and 2 HBP in 5 innings, bringing his walk total to 16 in 17.1 innings. Despite that, and 4 hits and 3 runs, he got the win. Roy Merritt came into a 3-3 game in the 6th with the bases loaded and no outs, and stranded all 3 runners. Clint Everts and Edgar Ramirez each pitched a scoreless inning to finish off the game.

Kyle Allen had a very rough outing today, he was uncharacteristically wild, issuing 4 walks, throwing 2 wild pitches, and hitting a pair, as well as giving up 6 hits and 6 runs in 3+ innings to take his first loss of the season. Rhiner Cruz had a great outing in long relief with 4 hitless innings.

The Mets offense had just 5 hits and 3 walks on the night, while going 1 for 6 with RISP, leaving 4 on base, and striking out 11 times. Emmanuel Garcia (0 for 4, 2 Ks, .246), Josh Satin (0 for 3, RBI, BB, .292), Jean Luc Blaquiere (0 for 3, K, .220) and Luis Nieves (0 for 3, .100) all took 0-fers, no Met had a multi hit game.

Armando Rodriguez had his best outing of the season, pitching into the 7th, giving up a run on 5 hits in 6.2 innings with 7 strikeouts for his first win. Michael Powers picked up his 3rd save.

The Gnats offense had 9 hits and drew 5 walks, but were only 1 for 8 with RISP, left 9 on base, and struck out 6 times. Wilmer Flores had a big game with 3 hits, including his first triple of the season. Jefry Marte had the only other multi hit game, while Pedro Zapata, Jeff Flagg (0 for 3, BB, K, .200), and Alonzo Harris took 0-fers.
