4/12 Minor League Report! EVANS!

AAA International League: Buffalo 1/6/2, Syracuse 9/6/0

Bobby Livingston no es bueno, he gave up 8 runs (3 earned) on 5 hits and 4 walks in 4.1 innings to take his first loss of the season. The Bisons managed just a run on 6 hits, the run came on Ike Davis' 2nd homer of the season, he drew the lone Bison's walk. Josh Thole, Mike Hessman (0 for 4, 2 Ks, .267), Mike Cervanek (0 for 3, .000) and Ruben Tejada took 0-fers for the Bisons, who went 0 for 3 with RISP and left 6 on base.

AA Eastern League: Binghamton 7/7/1, Erie 4/3/1

Eddie Kunz' first pro start was decent, but he displayed the same control issues that have plagued him for two plus seasons now, as he walked 4 in 5 innings, and also allowed a pair of homers in giving up 4 runs (3 earned). Jose De La Torre was brilliant in relief with 3 perfect innings. Roy Merritt notched his first save with a scoreless 9th.

The Mets offense was paced by 2 homers from Nick Evans, who seemingly (over the first 5 games) has regained the stroke that earned him a major league callup in 2008. he paced a 7 hit, 7 walk attack for the Mets, who were 2 for 7 (.286) with RISP and left 4 on base. Jon Malo (2) had the other multi hit game for the Mets, while Kirk Nieuwenhuis, Lucas Duda, Mike Nickeas (0 for 3, BB, 2 Ks, .000) and Carlos Guzman took 0-fers.

Taylor Whitenton's A debut didn't go well, he gave up 2 runs on 4 hits and 3 walks in just 3.1 innings to take his first loss. Darin Gorski pitched 4 innings piggybacking, he was very good, giving up just a hit with 7 Ks. None of the pitchers who went today are prospects. The Gnats were held to 5 hits and 2 walks, while going 1 for 7 (.149) with RISP and leaving 6 on base. Rafael Fernandez had the only multi hit game for the Gnats, There were alot of 0-fers.
