Felt like Deja Vu all over again. I get to the game. I get to sit behind homeplate and I hear Carson is pitching. First thing that went through my mind was, "Oh crap." Because I was sitting behind homeplate when he was pitching against Augusta on Easter Sunday. Where he only last 2 and 2/3 of an inning. Sure enough in the first inning the Braves were hitting Carson's pitches like he was tossing them batting practice. But after the first was over he calmed down and only gave up 1 more run in the next 5 innings (6 innings, 12 hits, 5 earned runs, and 3 strikeouts)
Valdespin played SS tonight to give Flores the day off. In the first inning he made an error trying to make a double play. Besides that it was just a regular day playing Shortstop. On offensive he's been nothing but on fire. He went 3-5 with 3 singles and 1 strikeout. Now batting .397! There was a scary moment in the 3rd when he tried to score and slide in between the catchers legs when his leg twisted the wrong way and stayed on the ground for about a minute. He got up and started limping. But he stayed in the game and played like nothing happened. But because of that I don't think he'll be playing tomorrow.
On the other side of Valdespin's 3 for 5 Rafael Fernandez was 0-5 with 4 strikeouts and Jose Jimenez was 0-3 with 3 strikeouts. Now batting .050! Marte continues to struggle. He went 1-5
The Gnats are now 10-5
