Scott Shaw got ripped for 7 runs on 7 hits and 2 walks in 4.1 innings for his second loss. Clint Everts poured gasoline on the fire by giving up 5 runs on 2 hits and 3 walks in 1.1 innings to completely put the game out of reach.

The Mets offense had just 7 hits and 3 walks, while going just 1 for 6 with RISP, leaving 3 on base, and striking out 8 times. Nick Evans had the only multi hit game, while Reese Havens, Mike Moras (0 for 4, RBI, K, .143) and Hector Pellot (0 for 3, RBI, 2 Ks, .156) took 0-fers.

Jeurys Familia returned off the DL with 3 decent innings, allowing a run on 2 hits and a walk. Chris Schwinden picked up the win with 5.2 solid innings, allowing 2 runs on 9 hits, Manuel Alvarez notched his 9th save.

The Mets offense had 9 hits and 6 walks of their own, while going 4 for 15 (.267) with RISP, leaving 8 on base, along with just 6 strikeouts. Eric Campbell and Josh Satin had multi hit games, while Emmanuel Garcia (0 for 2, 2 runs, 3 BBs, .237), and Jean Luc Blaquiere (0 for 3, BB, K, .195) took 0-fers.

A South Atlantic League: Savannah 0/14/4, Augusta 1/12/0 in 18 innings

Cesar Puello's fielding error on a flyball single in the 18th allowed the winning run to score in the bottom of the 18th, breaking a scoreless tie. Jefry Marte (1) and Alonzo Harris (2) had the other errors for the Gnats, who got tremendous pitching from all 5 of their pitchers, Brandon Sage took a tough loss. Armando Rodriguez started and had his best outing of the season, with 7 terrific innings, allowing just 3 hits and 3 walks. Collin McHugh (5), and Michael Powers (3) followed with shutout stints of their own, before Sage got unlucky in the 18th, though it was John Church who allowed the 'walkoff' hit.

The Gnats offense was equally stifled today, with just 14 hits and 5 walks in 18 innings of work. They were 2 for 15 (.133) with RISP and left 15 on base as a team. Kai Gronauer had a particularly horrible day, with an 0 for 8 (2 Ks) and team high 9 LOB. Pedro Zapata, Juan Lagares, Wilmer Flores, Rafael Fernandez and Cesar Puello had multi hit games, while Alonzo Harris took the only other 0-fer besides Gronauer. The Gnats struck out just 12 times in 62 team ABs.
