5/23 Minor League Report! THOLE!

AAA International League: Buffalo 6/15/0, LeHigh Valley 5/9/2

Josh Thole continued his hot month with 3 more hits, including his 13th double, as the Bisons beat the Pigs 6-5 today. Ruben Tejada also continued his torrid May with 2 more hits, his average now sits at .312. Tobi Stoner picked up his 3rd win, and Bobby Parnell pitched 2 innings, with 5 strikeouts.

Scott Shaw had yet another horrible outing in AA, giving up 4 runs on 5 hits and 4 walks in 4.1 innings for his 3rd loss of the season. The Mets offense had just 7 hits and 2 walks, while going just 2 for 11 (.182) with RISP, leaving 6 on base, and striking out 5 times. Luis Hernandez had the only multi hit game for the Mets, while Nick Evans, Carlos Guzman and Hector Pellot (0 for 3, 2 Ks, .138) took 0-fers.

Marcos Tabata came in for long relief, and put the game away, giving up 3 runs on 2 hits and 4 walks in 3.1 innings. The Mets has 12 hits and drew 3 walks, while going 3 for 8 (.375) with RISP, and leaving 10 on base, along with 8 strikeouts. Joey August, Daniel Murphy and Stefan Welch had multi hit games, while Sean Ratliff, Richard Lucas, and Raul Reyes (0 for 4, .176) all took 0-fers.

There was a 90 minute rain delay in this game, so both starters didn't factor into the decision. John Church threw 4 shutout innings after the delay for the win, allowing just 1 hit. The Gnats had just 5 hits and 2 walks today, but it was enough for 6 runs. The Gnats went 2 for 5 with RISP, left 2 on base, and struck out 7 times. No Gnat had a multi hit game, while Alonzo Harris, Wilmer Flores, Jefry Marte, and Nick Santomauro took 0-fers.
