The Mets bullpen IMPLODED today, turning a 7-2 lead into a 9-7 loss. Jimmy Johnson, and especially Jose Bierd, combined to wreck a terrific outing from Robert Carson, who easily had his best start of 2010, going 6 innings, while allowing 2 runs on 5 hits. Bierd took the loss, giving up 5 runs on 5 hits and a walk.
The Mets offense definitely did their job, with 7 runs on 13 hits and a walk, despite going 2 for 15 (.133) with RISP and leaving 9 on base. Sean Ratliff (0 for 5, 2 Ks, .274), Brahiam Maldonado and Richard Lucas took 0-fers. Emmanuel Garcia, Stefan Welch and Eric "Can't Get Me Out Right Now" Campbell had mulit hit games.

Collin McHugh started and wasn't effective, giving up 4 runs on 7 hits and 3 walks in 4.2 innings, but his offense bailed him out. Michael Powers took the loss after giving up an unearned run (Jefry Marte's 8th error already!)
