St. Lucie 0, Vero Beach 1, 13 innings
A classic pitchers duel, with Ryan Coultas giving up the winning run in the 13th. Coultas did not retire a single batter in the 13th, allowing 4 straight hitters to reach, with the help of an error. He allowed a leadoff single, then Luis Rivera (2b) muffed a bunt, throwing it away. An IBB followed then a walkoff single. It was an ugly night for both offenses, the Mets were 4 hit, and 6 players took 0-fers. Ezequiel Carrera (0 for 4, BB, 2 Ks, .252), Luis Rivera (0 for 6, .250), Lucas Duda (0 for 5, 3 Ks, .302), Josh Petersen (0 for 5, 2 Ks) DJ Wabick (0 for 5, K, .279), and Jason Jacobs (0 for 3, 2 BBs, K, .261). Ruben Tejada had the only multi hit game, he went 2 for 5, and is batting .224 now. He's got a very modest 3 game hitting streak, 4 for 10 in the 3 games. Leivi Ventura and JR Voyles had the other Met hits. The Mets fell to a season-low 20 games under .500 at 8-28.
