Nelson Figueroa made his first start for the Zs, and it was a very good one, he went 8 innings, allowing 9 hits and 3 runs while striking out 8. Nate Field worked the 9th for his 5th save.
The offense was led by the multi hit games of Argenis Reyes and Chris Aguila in the 2-3 spots (each also had an RBI), and the 8-9 hitters, who also had an RBI apiece. Anderson Hernandez (0 for 4, .191), Val Pascucci (0 for 4, K, .290), Michel Abreu (0 for 4, .224), and Abraham Nunez (0 for 1, run, BB, .202) took 0-fers.

Eric Reed singled twice and scored 2 runs out of the leadoff spot, but those were the only runs scored by Binghamton, as ineffective starting pitching (story of the season outside of select non-Niese starts) once again plagued the Mets, dropping them to 2 under .500 at 24-26.

Stephen Clyne lowered his ERA by allowing a run over 2 innings, but that happened to be the game decider in the 8th, so he took his 3rd loss. Tobi Stoner had yet another outstanding start for the Mets, going 7 innings allowing just 2 runs on 2 hits and a walk, striking out 7.
The offense managed just 7 hits and 2 runs, themselves, with the middle of the order going 2 for 11 with a 2b and 2 RBI. Robinson Cancel made a rehab appearance, going 0 for 4. DJ Wabick (0 for 4, 2 Ks, .281), Leivi Ventura (0 for 2, BB, 2 Ks, .242), and Bradley Hubbert (0 for 4, 3 Ks, .256) took 0-fers.

One outing removed from the best start for any Met minor leaguer (CG 3 hit SO), Maikel Cleto gave up 9 hits and 4 runs in 6 innings to take his 4th loss of the season, and Josh Stinson came in to put the game out of reach, allowing 3 hits, 5 walks and 4 runs in 2 innings.
The offense managed just 7 hits and 2 runs, 1 off a Jose Jimenez solo homer, the other off a Matt Bouchard RBI groundout. Michael Parker (0 for 2, 2 Ks, .225), Jacob Elgsti (0 for 2, BB, 2 Ks, .225) and Matt Bouchard (0 for 3, RBI, 2 Ks, .207) took 0-fers.
