John Sickels on Mike Carp

LINK

He's downright pessemistic next to us, huh? I wouldn't discount Carp's early decimation of LHP, although like the rest of the Trinity, those numbers have come down slightly (really, he wasn't hitting .440 all year). Still, after a pitiful 19 for 110 last season, he's 14 for 38 with a 2b and 3 HR this year vs LHP, for a .368/.385/.632/1.017 line.

And his defense isn't quite as bad as Sickels makes it sound. And he's still 21, turns 22 on 6/30. I don't do the grading system, but if I did, Carp would be a solid B prospect. Basically throw away 2007 as a lost year.
