5.5 Minor League Report! Antonini!

New Orleans 4, Portland 5, in 12 innings

Ivan Maldonado's nightmarish season continued tonight, as he surrendered the winning run with 1 out in the bottom of the 12th inning. Adam Bostick started and allowed 8 hits and 4 runs over 6 innings, his first real bad outing of the season, raising his ERA to 4.14. Willie Collazo and Carlos Muniz pitched 5 innings of shutout relief in back of Bostick, but the Zs offense was stifled by Portland's bullpen, to the tune of 6 innings and only 2 hits and a walk.

Val Pascucci had a the only multi hit game for the Zs, while 5 players took 0-fers. Anderson Hernandez (0 for 4, run, BB, 2 Ks, .197), Chris Aguila (0 for 5, 2 Ks, .295), Gustavo Molina (0 for 4, BB, K, .276), Anderson Machado (0 for 3, 2 Ks, .185), Argenis Reyes (0 for 2, K, .245)

LOL. This is getting pathetic, the Mets have now given up 19, 14, 11 in their last 3 games, 44 runs in 27 innings, and have lose all 3. Tonight it was Jon Niese's turn to get decimated. He fired 3 hitless innings, but collapsed in the 4th and 5th. His final line was abysmal, 4.1 ip, 8 h, 7 er. Joe Hietpas and Robert Paulk gave up 2 runs a piece in relief, and if that wasn't bad enough, the Mets were 3 hit, with one of the hits coming from Niese. The Mets are now 11-20, and are 2-11 in their last 13.

St. Lucie 2, Lakeland 9

The Mets defense was absolutely brutal today, 4 errors (Jamar Hill (2), Josh Petersen (1), Ruben Tejada (11) and Ezequiel Carrera (2)) led to 6 unearned runs, and to top it off, they were facing Rick Porcello, who was pretty good tonight (6 ip, 3 h, 3 bb, 2 k, 1.98). Tobi Stoner took the tough loss, despite pitching extremely well himself (6 ip, 4 h, 2 er, 9 k, hr, 3.14). Edgar Alfonzo, Brandon Nall, and Stephen Clyne combined to give up 7 runs, only 1 earned, from innings 7 to 9. The Mets have lost 3 straight and are now 7-24.

The Mets only managed 4 hits, and their 2 runs came from a 2 run homer off the bat of Ramon Castro. Lucas Duda (.317), Josh Petersen (.316) and Ruben Tejada (.216) each went 1 for 4.

Josh Stinson gave up 5 hits and 3 runs, 1 earned, in his 2.2 innings, turning a 4-2 lead into a 5-4 defeat, and ruining yet another good outing from Michael Antonini. Antonini gave up 6 hits and 2 runs in 6 innings, lowering his ERA to 3.22, but he took the ND.

3 Gnats had multi hit games, Casey Craig, Michael Parker, and Matt Bouchard, while 4 took 0-fers, Richard Pena (0 for 3, run, BB, .239), Joaquin Rodriguez (0 for 3, BB, 2 Ks, 304), Jose Jimenez (0 for 3, BB, K, .198) and Richard Lucas (0 for 4, run, 3 Ks, .202). The Gnats are now 12-19.
