Kingsport 3, Bluefield 2, Game 1
Wilmer Flores homered in his first AB, but otherwise went hitless, as Kingsport won 3-2. It was his 8th XBH, 4th HR and 18th RBI. And yeah, he's 16 years old (for another month and change). What he's doing is otherworldly right now. It's Fernando-esque in it's dominance. Stefan Welch also had a hit, Pedro Zapata had 2. Dock Doule (0 for 1, run, 2 BBs, .227) and Rafael Fernandez (0 for 1, run, 2 BBs, .212) took 0-fers. Doyle, taken in the 5th round this year, has 5 walks in 7 games, including back to back 2 walk games.
Mark Cohoon was decent over his 4 innings, he allowed 2 hits, 2 runs and 3 walks. Zach Rosenbaum got the win with 2 shutout innings in relief, Manuel Alvarez got the save.
Ignacio Medrano (2b) 1 for 3, BB, K, .311

Pedro Zapata (cf) 2 for 3, RBI, K, .176
Gabriel Zavala (dh) 1 for 2, 2b, K, .351
Mark Cohoon 4 IP, 2 H, 2 ER, 3 BBs, 5 Ks, 7 era
Zach Rosenbaum 2 IP, H, BB, 2 Ks, 12.79 era, W (1-2)
Manuel Alvarez IP, 5.79 era, SV (2)
Kingsport 7, Bluefield 5, Game 2
Stop the presses, Wilmer Flores...drew a walk. And had his 9th XBH (a 2b). He really is unbelieveable, he should be in between his junior and senior years in HS (I believe he'd be among the youngest of the class of 09...). Instead, he's playing pro ball and dominating in a league where the average age is around 21. Oh yeah, and he's got braces and looks like he's 12. Unreal. Anyway, outside of Flores, Ignacio Medrano and Dock Doyle had multi hit games, while Imbawer Alvarez (0 for 3, BB, .067) and 34th round pick Justin Garber (0 for 4, run, .077) took 0-fers.
Collin McHugh started and was extremely ineffective, allowing 6 hits and 4 runs in 3 innings. Michael Danger Powers pitched 2 innings of scoreless relief for the win, Erik Turgeon got his 2nd save with a scoreless 7th.
Ignacio Medrano (2b) 2 for 4, 2 runs, 2b, K, .327
Wilmer Flores (ss) 1 for 3, run, 2b, BB, .375
Dock Doyle (dh) 2 for 3, 2 runs, RBI, BB, .280
Jean Luc Blaquiere (c) 1 for 2, run, 2b, 2 RBI, BB, .233

Jorge Rodriguez IP, H, R, BB, 3 Ks, 0.84 era
Erik Turgeon IP, H, 2 Ks, 1.80 era, SV (2)
