The middle 3 in the order (Duda, Mendez, Thole) each drove in a pair, as the Mets routed the Tigers in game 1 of a doubleheader. Michael Antonini went the distance, allowing just a run on a hit, picking up his 4th FSL victory.

The Gnats poured across 4 in the top of the 9th, rallying from 5-2 down to win it 6-5. Greg Veloz, who had a HUGE day, had the go ahead 2 run single during the rally. Veloz was 4 for 5 with 4 RBI, raising his average to a season best .276. Jose Jimenez and Carlos Guzman also had multi hit games. Juan Lagares (0 for 4, .257), Casey Craig (0 for 4, BB, 2 Ks, .290), Sean McCraw (0 for 3, run, BB, K, .261), and Brad Hubbert (0 for 2, 2 runs, 2 Ks, .149) took 0-fers.
Scott Moviel had a rough outing today, his first since May 29th, giving up 5 runs on 7 hits in 4.1 innings. Jose Bierd, removed from the closers role after struggling, pitched an excellent 3.2 innings of long relief, allowing just a hit, striking out 3. Junior Guerra got his 1st save with a scoreless 9th.
