Buffalo 1, Gwinnett 9
Not much to say about this one. The Bisons were bootstomped, right from the outset, with Brandon Knight giving up 5 runs in 5 innings, and then Carlos Muniz putting the game out of reach giving up 4 UER in the 6th. The Bisons were held to 5 hits, by Angel Pagan (1 for 4, K, .200), Mike Lamb (2 for 4, run, 2b, .151), Jesus Feliciano (1 for 4, .287) and Jose Coronado (1 for 1, .141).

Michael Antonini was scratched from his start tonight, no word on why. Nick Abel started in his place, and was putrid, giving up 3 runs in 3.1 innings on 8 hits, but it was Julio De La Cruz who gave up the game deciding run in the 9th inning. Or actually - Cruz who walked the leadoff hitter in the 9th, who Stephen Clyne then allowed to score.
The Mets were facing rehabbing Ricky Romero (2-0, 1.71 in 3 GS for the Toronto Blue Jays), and they had a good showing against him, drawing 5 walks and collecting 3 hits en route to 2 runs (1 earned). Overall, the Mets had 6 hits and 6 walks in the game, and were 3 for 10 with RISP, leaving 6 on base. Emmanuel Garcia (0 for 1, 2 runs, 4 BBs, .256), Lucas Duda (0 for 3, BB, 2 Ks, .289), Carl Loadenthal (0 for 4, K, .263), Mark Kiger (0 for 3, BB, .220) and Ruben Tejada (0 for 3, .253) all took 0-fers, while Josh Petersen had the only multi hit game.

St. Lucie 9, Palm Beach 4
For the second straight game, the Mets got a grand slam, this time in the 5th inning, riding it to victory over Palm Beach, 9-4, in an early morning affair. Reese Havens' lone hit today in 5 ABs was the GS. The Mets had 13 hits and drew 6 walks, and went 6 for 12 with RISP, leaving 8 men on base. Ike Davis, Carlos Guzman, Ralph Henriquez and Greg Veloz all had multi hit games, while the lone 0-fer went to the extremely worthless piece of shit known as Matt Bouchard (0 for 3, run, BB, K, .216).
Jenrry Mejia was outstanding today, showing no ill effects from missing his last outing (due to blisters), he fired 6 innings of 5 hit ball, allowing just an UER (due to his own error). Nick Carr worked the final 3 innings for the "save", despite allowing 3 runs on 2 hits and 5 walks (gotta love the 3 inning save rule).

Elvin Ramirez, outside of his first outing (which was flat dominant), has been pretty pedestrian, posting a 4.13 era. Tonight, he gave up 3 runs on 6 hits in 5 innings, for his second loss. Chris Schwinden made his first appearance since 4/16, giving up 4 hits and 3 runs in 2 innings, putting the game out of reach.
The Gnats offense had just 4 hits and 2 runs, they were stymied by 24 year old Michael Jarman. They were 1 for 2 with RISP, and left no one on base.
On the unusual side, the Gnats did turn a triple play, 8 to 2 to 5, in the 3rd inning. Anthony Scelfo flies into a triple play, center fielder Juan Lagares to catcher Kai Gronauer to third baseman Jefry Marte. John Mollicone out at home. Justin Reynolds out at 3rd.
