Binghamton 6, Portland 11
Roy Merritt's 2 blown saves (including tonight) have yielded all of his runs allowed (all 6), he gave up 3 more runs tonight in blowing the save, when he was asked to work 2 innings, and had to removed after retiring just one batter. In between, he allowed 3 runs on 3 hits (including a homer). Every pitcher the Mets threw out there gave up runs, The starter, Jose Sanchez, gave up 2, John Madden, Merritt and Nick Abel each gave up 3.
The Mets offense certainly did their job in scoring 6 runs, but were woeful with RISP (5 for 19), and left 12 runners on base. Emmanuel Garcia, Josh Thole and DJ Wabick had multi hit games.

St. Lucie 7, Palm Beach 6, in 10 innings
Matt Bouchard and Francisco Pena committed key errors in the 8th inning, leading to 3 Cardinals runs off Brant Rustich, those runs briefly gave the Cardinals a 6-3 lead. In the bottom half, Bouchard got those runs back with his first homer of the season (don't worry, he's still a putrid baseball player). Bouchard, along with Greg Veloz, Kirk Nieuwenhuis and Pena, had multi hit games, while both Reese Havens and Ike Davis took 0-fers.
Angel Calero started this game and was not very good, lasting just 5 innings, giving up 3 runs on 6 hits (including a homer) and 3 walks. Brant Rustich walked 4 in his 3 innings, in addition to giving up those 3 UER. Jose De La Torre got the win with 2 shutout innings.

Savannah 3, Asheville 5
Errors by Jefry Marte (13) and Sean Ratliff (3), led to 3 UER off Robert Carson in the 3rd inning, and that doomed the Gnats tonight, as they lost 5-3. Carson pitched extremely well aside from the error filled third, working 6 innings of 3 hit ball. Erik Turgeon allowed a pair of runs in the 8th inning to take the loss.
The offense was pretty much stymied all night, gathering just 5 hits and drawing 2 walks, going 1 for 5 with RISP and leaving 4 on base. Sean Ratliff, fresh off an 8 for 8 two game stretch, went 0 for 4 with 2 Ks. Marte, Kai Gronauer (0 for 3, BB, 2 Ks, .208), and Stefan Welch (0 for 3, 2 Ks, .000) also took 0-fers.
