5/17 Minor League Report! GEE, Duda, FERNANDEZ!

Buffalo 2, Pawtucket 3 in 11 innings

Guess we know why Eddie Kunz hasn't been closing games lately for the Bisons, wow. Handed a 2-0 lead heading to the bottom of the 11th, Kunz registered one out, allowed 5 hits and a walk, along with 3 runs. Dillon Gee started this game, and was brilliant for 6.1 innings, outside of some very uncharacteristic wildness (he walked 5!), allowing just 3 hits, while striking out 8.

The Bisons were held to just 5 hits and 5 walks in the game, and were 0 for 5 with RISP, leaving 4 on base. Fernando Martinez, Javier Valentin (0 for 4, .273), Mike Lamb (0 for 2, 2 BBs, K, .164), Rene Rivera (0 for 3, K, .143), and Jon Malo (0 for 3, BB, 2 Ks, .194) took 0-fers, while Argenis Reyes had the only multi hit game.

Binghamton 2, Trenton 1 - Game 1

Ryan Coultas had another good outing for the BMets, scattering 4 hits and a run over 5.1 innings for his 3rd win of the season. Julio De La Cruz picked up the save with 1.2 perfect innings.

The Mets had 8 hits and 2 walks, and were 1 for 4 with RISP, leaving 7 on base. Emmanuel Garcia (0 for 3, 2 Ks, .235) and Mark Kiger (0 for 2, BB, K, .246) took 0-fers, Jose Coronado had the only multi hit game.

Binghamton 4, Trenton 3 - Game 1, 8 innings

Stephen Clyne got his AA victory with 3 shutout innings in relief of Tobi Stoner, who gave up 3 runs on 5 hits in 5+ innings. The Mets had just 6 hits on the day, but drew 4 walks, however, they were just 1 for 5 with RISP and left 5 on base. Lucas Duda had the only multi hit game for the Mets, while Carl Loadenthal (0 for 2, run, RBI, 2 BBs, K, .250), Josh Petersen (0 for 3, K, .276), Salvador Paniagua (0 for 3, 2 Ks, .182), and Ruben Tejada (0 for 1, run, 2 BBs, .241) all took 0-fers.

Savannah 8, Lexington 7, in 10 innings

Eric Beaulac started for the Gnats, but went just 2 innings, giving up 3 hits and 2 runs, walking 3. No immediate word on why he only went 2. Kyle Allen, who was scheduled to piggyback, came on after 4 innings, and had a very uneven outing, giving up 4 runs on 6 hits, but generating 12 groundouts of the 15 he got (the other 3 were Ks). He picked up the win after the Gnats scored one in the top of the 10th.

The Gnats pounded out 14 hits and drew 6 walks, and were 4 for 11 with RISP, leaving 12 men on base. Jefry Marte, Sean Ratliff, Jean Luc Blaquiere (0 for 3, BB, .194) and Luis Alen (0 for 4, RBI, .182) were the Gnats who failed to record multi hit games.
