5/6 Minor League Report! TEJADA, HOLT, Allen!

Buffalo 1, Lehigh Valley 2

Yeah, well...at least Fernando's hot. 2 more hits (2b, 3b) and he raises his average back to .287. Tim Redding was very good over his 6 innings, allowing just a run on 6 hits with 5 Ks. Outside of that...in the word of my friend Joey DeMayo...plop.

Willy Mo Pena (0 for 3, K, .227), Mike Lamb (0 for 3, .074), Rafael Arroyo (0 for 2, BB, 2 Ks, .000) and Jose Coronado (0 for 2, BB, 2 Ks, .143) took 0-fers. The Bisons went 1 for 9 with RISP and left 8 on base.

By the way - how do the Mets and/or Bisons expect Nick Evans to break out of this ridiculous slump he's in - IF HE'S NOT PLAYING EVERY DAY?????????? HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLO PEOPLE!

Binghamton 3, Portland 4

The Mets attempt at a late rally failed when Josh Thole, pinch hitting for Salvador Paniagua, grounded out to first, ending the game with the tying run on 2nd.

Fernando Nieve was flat awful again (hmm...maybe cause he's a reliever who's starting...), giving up 3 runs on 6 hits and 3 walks in 4.1 innings, which actually lowered his ERA 18 points.

The Mets offense had 12 hits and drew 3 walks, but were a horrific 2 for 16 with RISP and left 10 men on base. Ruben Tejada had a HUGE game with 3 hits and a walk, he was joined in the multi hit column by Jon Malo, Shawn Bowman and Carl Loadenthal. Emmanuel Garcia (0 for 5, RBI, K, .268), Paniagua (0 for 4, 2 Ks, .250), and Josh Petersen (0 for 4, 2 Ks, .255) took 0-fers.

Savannah 6, Greenville 4 in 10 innings

Kyle Allen, piggybacking Eric Beaulac tonight, had his best pro outing with 5 shutout innings, to pick up his 2nd SAL victory, after the Gnats scored a pair in the 9th (Josh Satin RBI 1b, Kai Gronauer RBI 1b) and 10th (walkoff 2 run HR Jefry Marte) to erase a 4-2 deficit and win 6-4.

Beaulac struggled tonight, giving up 4 runs (3 earned) over 5 innings, but he did strike out 8. Allen allowed just 2 hits in his 5 innings, striking out 6 for the win.
