It was a second straight very rough outing for Michael Antonini, who gave up 4 runs in the first inning, but settled down and pitched 3 more solid innings after, allowing just a run. Overall, he gave up 5 runs in 4 innings, taking his first loss in AAA.
Fernando Martinez continued to rage white hot in May with 2 more hits, including his 14th double of the season. Martinez in May is now hitting a blistering .351/.400/.703/1.103 (26 for 74, 6 2b, 3b, 6 HR). Mike Lamb also had a multi hit game, while Jesus Feliciano (0 for 4, K, .267) took the only 0-fer.

Eric Brown, coming off one of the best outings of his career in long relief (6.2 ip, 2 h, 1/2 bb/k), had one of his worst, giving up 9 hits and 5 runs in 5.1 innings to take the loss for the Mets this morning. Stephen Clyne allowed both of Brown's IHR to score, and then allowed 2 of his own runs, which provided the final margin of defeat.
The Mets had 9 hits and 2 walks, but were a woeful 1 for 6 with RISP and left 8 on base (of course, they had the defintion of a B lineup in there, even in AA ball). Jose Coronado (ss, 0 for 4, run, BB, K, .316), Salvador Paniagua (0 for 4, K, .148) and Ruben Tejada (2b, 0 for 4, .236) took 0-fers, while the middle of the order (Wabick, Petersen, Duda) each had 2 hits, and were a combined 6 for 11 with all 3 RBI.

Emary Frederick gave up the game winning run in the bottom of the 9th, taking his 3rd loss of the season. The Mets were held to just 5 hits, Kirk Nieuwenhuis (1 for 4, 2 Ks, .248), Zach Lutz (1 for 3, BB, K, .279), Ike Davis (2 for 4, run, 2b (13), HR (2), RBI (12), K, .299) and Francisco Pena (1 for 3, BB, K, .200) had the hits, everyone else took 0-fers.
Eric Niesen and Edgar Ramirez held the Miracle to just 3 hits (all given up by Niesen), but Frederick gave up 2 hits and a run in the 9th for the loss.
