6/11 Minor League Report! TEJADA, FAMILIA!

I apologize for the lateness of this report, we blew a fuse upstairs last night during the Mets game (followed by me blowing a fuse after Takahashi gave it up to Ibanez), and it just got fixed early this morning. So here you go.

Also - starting this Sunday (the 14th), I will be taking my annual "Work on the MPH Draft Database" break (bi-annual this year), and David will be posting the nightly report EXCLUSIVELY at MetsProspectHub (http://metsprospecthub.blogspot.com). That will last until the 24th, and there will be a second such break sometime in early to mid July. I apologize in advance for any inconvenience. Keep in mind David is out on the left coast, so the report will be up rather late (4am or later eastern time).

Brant Rustich left this game after 3+ innings with a hand/wrist injury, the severity of which is unknown at this time. Jose De La Torre allowed Rustich's IHR to score (leadoff triple in the 4th), then fired 3 hitless innings of relief to pick up the win.

The Mets hammered the Yankees (hopefully we can say that 3 times this weekend!) for 14 hits and 9 runs, and also drew 6 walks, while going a stellar 8 for 21 with RISP (.381), and leaving 12 on base. Zach Lutz, Francisco Pena, Seth Williams and Matt Bouchard had multi hit games, every regular had a hit.

Savannah 3, Rome 2

Jeurys Familia, who was coming off 3 straight rough outings (16.1 ip, 26 h, 15 er, 4/9 bb/k, 0-2, 8.27 era), was outstanding today, allowing just 3 hits and an unearned run (Josh Satin error), while striking out 6 in 6 innings, but he was forced from the game by a rain delay in the 7th, and Michael Powers leeched the win, blowing the save.

From Mike at ScoutingtheSally.com (great great website; he posted this on NYFS): Familia was a top 100 prospect tonight. 91-93 consistently; Hitting 94 a number of times. Threw an 80 MPH slurve as an out pitch with good bite. It was the best I've seen him throw this year and this is my 4th time seeing him throw. He raises the level of his game when up against tough opponents. First time he dominated against Casey Kelly (2008 1st rounder), tonight he out shined the Braves Bret DeVall (2008 S1)

The Gnats offense had 10 hits and 2 walks, en route to 3 runs, while going 2 for 7 (.286) with RISP and leaving 7 on base. Rafael Fernandez, Sean Ratliff and Wilmer Flores had multi hit games, while Josh Satin (0 for 1, run, RBI, 2 BBs, K, .312) and Jean Luc Blaquiere (0 for 3, .196) took 0-fers.

rf Rafael Fernandez 2 for 4, K, .255
3b Jefry Marte 1 for 4, .221
cf Sean Ratliff 2 for 4, run, 3b, K, .295
ss Wilmer Flores 2 for 4, RBI, K, .259 (8 for his last 21, run, 2 2b, 3 RBI, 2 BBs, K)
dh Ralph Henriquez 1 for 4, RBI, K, .259
lf Raul Reyes 1 for 4, 2b, .270
1b Stefan Welch 1 for 3, run, .217
Jeurys Familia 6 IP, 3 H, R, 6 Ks, 3.11 era, 8:4:6
Michael Powers 2 IP, 3 H, ER, 3 era, BS (1), W (1-0), 4:2
Rhiner Cruz IP, H, BB, 2.61 era, SV (7), 2:1
