Josh Thole singled home Ruben Tejada in the top of the 10th for the games only run, as the Mets won a 1-0 thriller in Akron. The Mets had 7 hits and drew 3 walks, and were 1 for 10 with RISP (the one, of course, being Thole's hit), leaving 8 on base. Thole and Lucas Duda had multi hit games, while Ike Davis (0 for 3, 2 BBs, 2 Ks, .348), Shawn Bowman (0 for 4, K, .279), DJ Wabick (0 for 4, 2 Ks, .292), and Jon Malo (0 for 4, .300) took 0-fers.

Savannah 0, Charleston 1

Jeurys Familia pitched an excellent game today, but he came out on the short end of a pitchers duel, so got his 5th loss, despite a sub 3 era. He allowed just 2 hits and a run over 6.1 innings, and over his last 4 outings, he's allowed 5 runs over 24.2 innings, on 17 hits and 6 walks, while striking out 21, for a 1.82 era, with a 2-1 record. I would expect both Familia and Carson to be promoted to St. Lucie within the next couple of weeks.

The Gnats offense had 7 hits and a walk, but were just 1 for 6 with RISP and left 6 on base. Wilmer and Sean Ratliff (0 for 3, .283) took 0-fers.

Brandon Moore had a second straight dominant outing, scattering 3 hits and a run over 7 innings for his 2nd win of the season, as the Cyclones hammered Hudson Valley, 9-1. Moore has gone 7 innings in each of his first 2 outings, and has allowed a total of 7 hits while striking out 13 and walking 1.

The Cyclones hammered out 14 hits and drew 2 walks, while going a stellar 8 for 18 with RISP (.455), leaving 7 on base. Matt Bouchard, Sam Honeck, Nick Giarraputo, Doyle Doyle and Alex Gregory had multi hit games, while Luis Nieves (0 for 3, 2 runs, BB, .200) took the only 0-fer.

The Mets managed just 4 hits tonight, along with 3 walks, in losing 5-2. The good news? They didn't give up 10+ runs.
