Eric Brown had a no hitter going through 7, but was pulled from a 1-1 tie, and Julio De La Cruz gave up 2 runs in the bottom of the 8th after being handed a 2-1 lead, leading to the Mets loss. The Mets had just 6 hits of their own, and drew 2 walks, and were just 1 for 3 with RISP, leaving 4 on base. Nick Evans had the only multi hit game for the Mets, while Josh Thole (0 for 4, .354), Jacob Eigsti (0 for 4, 2 Ks, .222), DJ Wabick (0 for 4, 2 Ks, .293 (0 for 17 in June)), and Salvador Paniagua (0 for 3, K, .167) all took 0-fers.

Scott Shaw had a very good outing for the Mets, scattering 4 hits and 2 runs (1 earned) over 5.2 innings to pick up his 2nd win. Manuel Alvarez worked 1.1 innings for his 3rd save. The Mets had 6 hits and 3 walks en route to 4 runs, while going 1 for 5 with RiSP and leaving 4 on base. Kirk Nieuwenhuis had the only multi hit game for the Mets, while zach lutz (0 for 3, 2 Ks, .234), Francisco Pena (0 for 2, RBI, .211), Matt Bouchard (0 for 3, .196) and Hector Pellot (0 for 3, K, .252) took 0-fers.

The Mets fell behind early in Game 2 as Angel Calero had a very bad outing, then rallied for 3 in the top of the 7th, only to fall a run short, losing 6-5. Calero gave up 5 runs on 6 hits and 3 walks in just 4 innings, but the deciding run was given up by Nick Waechter.

The Mets offense came to life in Game 2 with 8 hits and 6 walks, but they were just 2 for 10 with RISP and left 9 on base. Each of the top 5 in the order had hits, 3 had multiple hits, while the bottom 5 all took 0-fers: Brahiam Maldonado (0 for 2, 2 BBs, .219), Rafael Arroyo (0 for 2, run, 2 BBs, .118), Hector Pellot (0 for 2, .248), Carlos Guzman (who PH for Pellot and stayed in DHing; 0 for 2, K, .289), and Richard Pena (0 for 3, .071).

Kyle Allen was betrayed by his defense tonight, though only one official error was charged to the Gnats, several balls were misplayed by infielders and outfielders alike. Allen gave up 5 hits and 4 runs (1 earned, Matt Gaski error), while striking out 6 in 4.1 innings. Eric Beaulac earned the win with 4 innings of 1 hit shutout relief.

The Gnats offense had 13 hits and a walk, and were a very good 5 for 14 with RISP, and left 7 on base. The top 3 in the order all had multi hit games, and combined to go 7 for 13 with 2 2b and 3 RBI. Gaski also had a multi hit game, while Raul Reyes (0 for 4, 2 Ks, .298), Wilmer Flores and Luis Alen (0 for 4, K, .160) took 0-fers.
