Savannah

Of the 9 hits Robert Carson gave up tonight in his 5 innings, 6 of the 9 were groundballs that found holes, such is the peril of being a dramatic groundball pitcher in the lower levels of the minor leagues, your defense is usually very raw. Chris Schwinden and Josh Stinson combined for 6 shutout innings behind Carson, but Rafael Fernandez' second throwing error of the game doomed Rhiner Cruz, he gave up an UER in the top of the 12th, and the Gnats couldn't answer in the bottom half, falling 4-3 in 12.

The Gnats had just 8 hits and 3 walks on the game, and were 0 for 5 with RISP, and left 7 on base. Jefry Marte, Josh Satin and Matt Gaski had multi hit games, while Fernandez (0 for 4, run, 2 BBs, K, .240), Raul Reyes (0 for 4, BB, K, .311), Wilmer Flores and Daniel Stegall (0 for 4, K, .130) all took 0-fers.

3b Jefry Marte 2 for 5, run, 2b, 2 Ks, .210 (8 for his last 25, 2 HR, 2 2b, 4 RBI, 1/7 BB/K)

1b Josh Satin 2 for 4, RBI, .317
c Jean Luc Blaquiere 1 for 5, 2b, K, .216
