Tobi Stoner and Junichi Tazawa hooked up in a pitchers duel, each took perfect games into the 5th, Lucas Duda broke it up first with a leadoff homer in the 5th, giving the Mets a 1-0 lead. Stoner lost the perfecto with a walk in the 5th, then lost the no hitter with no out in the 6th, and shortly thereafter, lost the game by giving up 3 runs in the inning.
Lucas Duda had the only multi hit game for the Mets, while the top 2 in the order (Garcia (0 for 3, .269) and Evans) were a combined 0 for 7. DJ Wabick (0 for 3, RBI, K, .310) and Jose Coronado (0 for 3, .207) also took 0-fers for the Mets, who were just 1 for 7 with RISP and left 5 on base.

Eric Niesen had his longest outing of the season, but unfortunately, it was in a losing effort, as the Mets managed just a run on 5 hits and 4 walks. Niesen went 7, allowing 9 hits and 4 runs (all on 3 homers) for his 3rd loss of the season. The Mets were just 2 for 8 with RISP and left 9 on base.

Jeff Kaplan had his first bad outing of the season, surrendering 4 runs (3 earned) on 5 hits and 4 walks in 4 innings to pick up his 2nd loss, and while the Gnats had 8 htis and drew 6 walks, they were just 3 for 14 with RISP and left 10 men on base, scoring just thrice.
Both Jordany Valdespin (1 for 1, .322) and Kai Gronauer left this game early, no information yet on why. Raul Reyes and Luis Alen had multi hit games, while Rafael Fernandez (0 for 3, RBI, 2 BBs, 3 Ks, .245), Josh Satin (0 for 4, BB, 2 Ks, .313), Jean Luc Blaquiere (0 for 3, 2 runs, BB, K, .217), and Dan Stegall (0 for 4, 3 Ks, .158) took 0-fers.
