Eric Niesen gave up 5 runs and couldn't escape the first inning, but that was just the tip of the iceberg for the Mets, as Nick Waechter followed and pitched 1.1 scoreless, before allowing the first 6 men to reach against him in the 3rd, he didn't record an out in the 3rd, and surrendered 7 runs.
The Mets had just 5 hits, 3 walks and a run, while going 1 for 5 with RISP. They left 6 on base. Greg Veloz (1 for 4, 2b, 2 Ks, .264), Carlos Guzman (2 for 3, run, .294), Brahiam Maldonado (1 for 2, BB, .225) and Richard Pena (1 for 3, RBI, K, .091) had the hits, everyone else took 0-fers.

Jeff Kaplan gave up 2 runs in the 5th inning, the only 2 of his outing, and that was enough to get him tagged with his first high A loss, as the Mets fell in Game 2, 4-1, and were swept in the doubleheader.
The Mets offense managed just 7 hits and a run, though they did draw 4 walks, they were just 2 for 11 with RISP and left 9 on base. Kirk Nieuwenhuis (0 for 4, K, .253), Carlos Guzman (0 for 4, .289), Brahiam Maldonado (0 for 2, BB, .222) and Rafael Arroyo (0 for 1, 2 BBs, .114) took 0-fers, while Zach Lutz and Hector Pellot had multi hit games.

Each pitcher the Gnats used (3), gave up UER tonight, but it was once again Robert Carson who got stuck with the loss, despite pitching decently, giving up 2 runs, (1 earned, due to his own error), on 6 hits and 2 walks in 5 innings. However, to be fair, Carson's only lost one outing in which he pitched brilliantly (May 11th, 6 ip, 4 h, 0 er, 1/3 bb/k). Samuel Martinez gave up 3 runs (2 earned, due to his own error) in his inning of work, then Rhiner Cruz gave up 2 runs (both unearned, due to Matt Gaski's second and Jefry Marte's 25th errors).
The Gnats had just 5 hits on the game, and were just 0 for 3 with RISP, leaving 3 on base. Rafael Fernandez (2 for 4, run, .256), Matt Gaski (1 for 4, 2b, RBI, K, .400), Wilmer Flores (1 for 3, .253), and Jefry Marte (1 for 3, run, HR (4), RBI (23), .217) had the hits, everyone else took 0-fers.
