A costly two out error in the 9th by Ruben Tejada opened the floodgates against Roy Merritt, who proceeded to give up an RBI single, HBP, then a grand slam to his next 3 batters, blowing the save for Tobi Stoner, who'd given up 4 runs on 6 hits over 8 innings, and left with a 5-4 lead.
The Mets offense did their job, with 12 hits and 3 walks, while going just 3 for 12 with RISP, and leaving 7 on base. Carl Loadenthal (0 for 3, run, 2 BBs, K, .237) and Lucas Duda (0 for 4, run, BB, .286) took 0-fers, while Nick Evans, Josh Thole and DJ Wabick had multi hit games.
