Unconfirmed rumor for the moment, but I'm hearing that Dan Murphy is packing his bags and heading west, to Houston. Murphy went 1 for 4 tonight with 2 runs and a walk. More as it develops.
Update: Confirmed. Murphy to the majors. Likely either Easley or Marlon to the DL (Marlon looked horrific trying to run on Wednesay, and Easley's been playing with a quad issue).

Mike Carp was the sum total of the Mets offense today, he smacked a 2 run triple in the 3rd and scored on an error, then hit a sac fly in the 5th, accounting for all 4 Met runs in their 4-3 win over the Rock Cats. Jose Coronado had a huge day out of the leadoff spot with 3 hits and a walk, scoring 2 runs. However, outside of Coronado and Carp, the offense was largely silent, 3 players took 0-fers, Jon Malo (0 for 2, run, BB, K, .261), Caleb Stewart (0 for 2, 2 BBs, .276), and Saloman Manriquez (0 for 4, K, .282), while 5 players had 1 hit, including Carp.

Brooklyn 3, Staten Island 2
The Cyclones never trailed in this game, they took a 1-0 lead, had it tied up, then took a 3-1 lead and held on to beat the Yankees 3-2. Chris Schwinden got his first win of the season with a brilliant performance over 6 innings, allowing 4 hits and striking out 7 (the only run against him was an UER). Roy Merritt (2.1) and Yury Santana (0.2) finished off the game.
The offense was held to just 6 hits, and 2 RBI, one of them on a Matt Smith homer, but on this night, that was enough. JR Voyles (0 for 4, .270), Jason Jacobs (0 for 3, run, K, .222), Sean Ratliff (0 for 4, .184), and John Servidio (0 for 3, 2 Ks, .250) took 0-fers, while Jose Jimenez had the only multi hit game for the Conies.

Kingsport 4, Bluefield 5, Game 1
Robert Carson did his best Oliver Perez Wild Thing impersonation today, and it was enough to earn him a loss. Bad Robert, never do that again! Carson walked 5 and hit 2 in 5 innings, while also allowing 3 hits and 2 UER. Phillips Orta allowed 6 hits and 3 runs (all earned) in his 2 innings of work, putting the game out of reach, which mattered when Kingsport put up 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th, coming up a run short.
Kyle Suire had a big game for the Mets with 3 hits, a homer and 3 RBI, but he was the only one with a multi hit game. The Mets managed just 7 hits total, with 4 players taking 0-fers: Doug McNulty (0 for 3, K, .225), Stefan Welch (0 for 3, .277), Jean Luc Blaquiere (0 for 2, run, 2 Ks, .222), and Imbewer Alvarez (0 for 3, 3 Ks, .211).

Brandon Moore got his first win in Kingsport with 2 scoreless innings, allowing a hit and 3 walks. Michael Powers got his 5th save with a perfect 9th.
