Tobi Stoner danced on the wild side today and escaped relatively unscathed. He walked 7 in 5.1 innings, but only allowed 1 run to escape with an ND. Edgar Alfonzo and Casey Hoorelbeke allowed 3 runs in 3.1 innings in back of Stoner, before Tim LaVigne, rapidly becoming Mr. Gas Can, allowed a run in the 10th to take his 5th loss.
Caleb Stewart had 2 hits on the day, including a game tying 3 run HR in the 8th, getting Alfonzo off the hook. Salomon Manriquez and Shawn Bowman also had multi hit games, while Ambi Concepcion (0 for 4, 2 Ks, .244), Josh Petersen (0 for 5, K, .219) and Anderson Machado (0 for 2, 2 BBs, 2 Ks, .194) all took 0-fers.

Nick Carr. Ouch. 0-10, 7.18 after today's drubbing. Carr gave up 6 runs in just 3 innings, on 4 hits and 3 walks, including 2 homers. Jose Bierd (2nd out of the pen) fared much much worse in his A+ debut, getting bombed for 5 runs on 3 hits and 3 walks in just 1.1 innings, a nifty 33.75 era.
Greg Veloz, promoted before the game, was 1 for 4 with a walk and 2 runs scored in his A+ debut. Josh Thole and Jason Jacobs had multi hit games, with Thole climbing back over the .300 mark. Ezequiel Carrera is leveling off after a red hot 2 week stretch, he had a hit and walk today, and is hitting at .274. Ruben Tejada (0 for 3, BB, K, .231), Lucas Duda (0 for 4, 2 Ks, .265), Brahiam Maldonado (0 for 4, .240) and DJ Wabick (0 for 4, K, .288) all took 0-fers.

Kirk Nieuwenhuis singled in Sean Ratliff in the bottom of the 10th, providing Brooklyn with the win after Roy Merritt allowed 2 runs in the top of the 7th inning (both runs were IHRs which Yury Santana failed to strand). Stephen Clyne got the win with 2 scoreless innings, his first in Brooklyn this season.
Reese Havens started in the field for the first time in his pro career, without making an error, he did not get a chance to turn any DPs. On the other side of the ball, he racked up 2 more XBH, a 2b and 3b, in 4 trips, collecting 2 RBI. His 08-draftee teammate, Ike Davis, had another bad night at the dish, going 0 for 4 to lower his average to .230. Kirk Nieuwenhuis had 2 hits, including the game winner. Aside from Davis, Eric Campbell (0 for 3, RBI, .269) took an 0-fer.

Collin McHugh had another rough outing, surrendering 3 runs on 5 hits and a walk in 4 innings, but Phillips Orta had a good one in relief, giving up just 2 hits and a run in 3 innings to pick up his 3rd win. Michael Powers pitched a perfect 9th for his 6th save.
Dock Doyle returned to the lineup with a bang, 3 hits, including 2 2b and 2 RBI out of the cleanup spot. Each of the first 5 hitters in the Mets lineup had a hit, with just 2 Mets taking 0-fers. Pedro Zapata (0 for 4, K, .208) and Imbewer Alvarez (0 for 3, run, .202). Doyle, Stefan Welch and Justin Garber had multi hit games.
