Dillon Gee's first AA start was outstanding, he went 7 terrific innings, allowing just a run on 4 hits, but Elvys Quezada continued to be bad at pitching, giving up a pair in the 8th to take the loss.
Mike Carp continued his prolific slide with another 0 for 4, dropping his average under .290. Peeter Ramos was 2 for 4 in his AA debut, the only Met with multiple hits. Fernando Martinez also took an 0-fer.

Savannah was 1 hit. Hard to win that way. Jefferies Tatford (1 for 3, 2 Ks, .315) had the lone hit, a single. Eric Beaulac was the unfortunate soul on the mound to take the loss (not that he pitched well at all).

Chris Schwinden, coming off his best pro outing by far (7 ip, h, 1/12 bb/k), was slightly less effective tonight, he went 6, allowing 2 runs (1 earned) on 4 hits and 3 walks, striking out 5. Wendy Rosa and Roy Merritt finished off the game, Merritt earning his first save with 2 hitless innings in relief.
The offense scored all it would need in the first 3 innings with single runs in each. Kingsport 8, Danville 2
Wilmer Flores is taking his remaining weakness and eliminating it. He'd drawn 0 walks in his first 57 ABs (June). Since, he's draw 10, while striking out just 16 times. Um, wow. While he has not homered in 46 ABs, it hardly matters if he keeps displaying the newfound discipline.
The other outstanding performance of this game was by lefty Robert Carson, who set a career high for IP with 7, utterly dominating Danville, generating 14 of his 21 outs via groundball. He allowed 6 hits while lowering his ERA to a miniscule 0.41.
Kyle Suire and Pedro Zapata had multi hit games, in addition to Wilmers, while Dock Doyle (0 for 4, run, BB, K, .315) took the only 0-fer.
