8/26 Minor League Report!

I got nothing off this loss. Just complete epic fail, blowing a 7-0 lead is inexcusable, I don't care what damn park you're in.

Bobby Parnell was solid for 6 innings today, bouncing back after getting his head handed to him last time out. The offense scored late to ice it (12 runs in the final 4 innings, HEY, PAYING ATTENTION METS?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?)

The Mets trailed 3-1 after 6, but put up runs in the 7th and 9th to tie the game, only to see Tim LaVigne cough another one up, taking his 6th loss of the season. Emmanuel Garcia returned from Bejing and went 1 for 4, Fernando Martinez had 2 hits and a run, while Mike Carp, Ambi Concepcion (0 for 4, 2 Ks, .238) and Salvador Paniagua (0 for 3, run, BB, .248) took 0-fers.

Nick Carr had a great outing in "relief", going 6 shutout innings allowing just 2 hits, striking out 5 after Ambi Burgos got another inning in on his road back to the Mets (and not a moment too soon!). Carr's been pitching much better his last 3 outings, going 1-0 with a 1.13 era in 16 innings, allowing 6 hits and 2 runs, but 8 walks and 10 Ks. Emary Frederick gave up 3 in the 8th to untie it, taking his 5th loss. The Mets were held to just 2 hits. Josh Thole (1 for 3, BB, 2 Ks, .304) and Brahiam Maldonado (1 for 4, 2b, K, .236).

Savannah scored 2 in the 8th and 9th (TAKING NOTES, METS?!?!?!?!) to overcome a 1-0 deficit and win 4-2. Jason LaVorgna picked up the win in relief, Manuel Olivares got the save. Phillips Orta was great in his SAL debut, allowing a run on 3 hits in 6 innings. Richard Pena had thee only multi hit game, while Michael Parker (0 for 4, K, .198), Jefferies Tatford (0 for 4, run, .286), Ralph Henriquez (0 for 4, K, .091) and Darren Clark (0 for 3, .252) took 0-fers.

Brooklyn roared out to a 7-2 lead and actually held onto it (HEY LOOK METS!) Scott Shaw picked up his 6th win with 6 good innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits while striking out 7. Jim Fuller pitched 3 perfect innings with 4 Ks for his 1st save. The Cyclones scoreed all 7 of their runs in the first 4 innings, but Shaw didn't give 5 back. Kirk Nieuwenhuis, Seth Williams and Sean Ratliff had multi hit games, while Jose Jimenez (0 for 3, RBI, 2 Ks, .243) and Jordan Abruzzo (0 for 4, K, .248) took 0-fers.
