The Mets rallied from 2-0 down with single runs in the 8th, 9th and 10th, with the game winner coming on a walkoff Kirk Nieuwenhuis homer, his 2nd of the game. All 3 Met runs scored via solo shots, in addition to Nieuwenhuis' pair, Brahiam Maldonado also hit one, his 12th of the season. Nieuwenhuis had the lone multi hit game, while Zach Lutz (0 for 4, 2 Ks, .287), Francisco Pena (0 for 4, K, .218), Seth Williams (0 for 2, BB, .257), and Jake Eigsti (0 for 3, .223) all took 0-fers.
Josh Stinson picked up the win with 2 scoreless innings, after Jose Sanchez went the first 4 and allowed 2 runs on 4 hits. Brant Rustich fired another scoreless inning with 2 Ks, his 2nd straight appearance of 2 Ks since coming off the DL. In fact, the bullpen followed Sanchez with 6 hitless innings, allowing just 3 walks, while striking out 9.
