Emary Frederick, Roy Merritt and Connor Robertson each followed with a scoreless inning of relief, allowing the Mets to work themselves back into the game with a 2 run 7th, but they could not push across the tying run.

For most of this game, the Mets were on cruise control, building themselves a 7-3 lead after 5 innings, and 11-3 after a 4 run 7th, but in horrifying fashion, Nick Waechter and Manuel Olivares combined to allow 8 runs in the top of the 9th, blowing the game for Scott Moviel. Stephen Clyne came in with the bases loaded and 2 down, and proceeded to allow all 3 runs to score, but escaped the inning with a tie. Brahiam Maldonado's 4 hit in the bottom of the 9th completed the narrow avoidance of disaster. Moviel started, and pitched a meh game, giving up 5 hits and 3 runs (2 earned) with 2 walks and 3 HBP. Clyne picked up the win, his 2nd in the FSL.
The Mets offense exploded today, registering one of the highest hit totals of the season (24), and alwo drawing a pair of walks while going 10 for 18 (.556) with RISP, thought they did leave a small army (15) on base. Every starter except Stefan Welch (0 for 6, run, K, .323) had a multi hit game, four players had 4 hit games.

Jhonathan Torres' 5th Appy start was arguably his "best", as he gave up a run on 5 hits in 4.1 innings, with 7 Ks. Samuel Taveras blew the save by giving up 3 runs in the 8th, and Travis Babin stranded one of Taveras' runners, keeping it a 1 run deficit at 4-3, and allowing the Mets time to regroup and rally for 3 in the 9th for the win. The 4 runs Kingsport gave up is the lowest run total against them since July 20th, when they gave up a run in an eventual 4-1 victory.
