The Mets faced an old friend tonight, Deolis Guerra, and Guerra shut down the Ike-less Mets got 6.2 innings, allowing just 2 runs (1 earned) on 5 hits. It was Guerra's second straight solid outing.
Onto the Mets, who didn't do much against Guerra's replacement, either. Overall, the Mets had 7 hits and a walk in the game, while going just 1 for 4 with RISP, and leaving 5 on base. Chris Mason got the start in place of Brad Holt, who is suffering from the flu, and took the loss, giving up 4 runs on 7 hits and 2 walks in 5 innings. Ike Davis didn't play, he's got sore ribs. The top 3 in the order, Ruben Tejada (0 for 4, .285), Jose Coronado (0 for 3, BB, 2 Ks, .270) and Josh Thole (0 for 3, .329) went a combined 0 for 10. Emmanuel Garcia (0 for 2, RBI, 2 Ks, .247) also took an 0-fer, while Shawn Bowman (2) and Caleb Stewart (2) had multi hit games.

Mr. Red - meet the buzzsaw. It was Sarasota's turn to face the St. Lucie Mets wrath tonight, as the Mets hammered out 13 hits and drew 3 walks, while going a stellar 6 for 11 (.556) with RISP. Kirk Nieuwehuis (2, HR), Stefan Welch (2), Seth Williams (2) and Hector Pellot (3) had multi hit games, every regular except Brahiam Maldonado (0 for 3, run, BB, .263) had a hit. Nieuwenhuis (4), and Pellot (5) had huge RBI games.
Angel Calero was the recipient of tonight's ourburst, he went the front 5, and wasn't very effective, giving up 4 runs (2 earned, Reese Havens' 21st error) on 8 hits. Edgar Ramirez worked the final 4 innings, giving up just a hit, for his 2nd save.

Collin McHugh had a second straight very impressive outing tonight, giving up just 4 hits in 7 innings with 7 strikeouts, to pick up his 7th win of the season. Over his last 4 outings, McHugh's struck out 33 in 25 innings.
