EL AA: Binghamton 5/11/0, Reading 3/11/1

Ruben Tejada: Phillie killer. Tejada had a perfect game tonight, going 4 for 4 and raising his season's average to it's high water mark (.294). Tejada scored 2 runs and plated a third, his 33rd RBI, and remember, he's primarily hit out of the 8/9 holes this season. Jose Coronado (2) and Emmanuel Garcia (3) also had multi hit games, while Josh Thole (0 for 5, K, .333), Lucas Duda (0 for 3, RBI (53), BB, .281), and Caleb Stewart (0 for 3, BB, .195) took 0-fers. The Mets were 3 for 12 with RISP and left 10 on base. Jacob Ruckle picked up the win with 3.1 innings of relief after Michael Antonini's outing was cut short due to a rain delay. Roy Merritt picked up his 12th save, a 4 outer.

Roy Merritt 1.1 IP, K, 4.06 era, SV (12), 0:3:1

FSL A+: St. Lucie 0/5/0, Jupiter 4/6/0

Jeff Kaplan took a tough luck loss tonight, giving up just a run on 2 hits in 6 innings, but the Mets managed only 5 hits of their own, while going 0 for 6 with RISP. Edgar Ramirez gave up 2 more runs in 0.2 innings tonight, his ERA has increased almost 5 fold in his last two outings. Stefan Welch (2), had the only multi hit game for the Mets, while Reese Havens (0 for 4, K, .236), Zach Lutz (0 for 4, K, .295), Richard Pena (0 for 3, .227), Seth Williams (0 for 3, .281), and Luis Rivera (INF, 0 for 3, .129) all took 0-fers.

Side note - the boxscore says RICHARD Pena caught the game today. As he's an outfielder, I'm going to assume it's Francisco Pena, but I'm not totally sure.

NYPL A-: Brooklyn 8/13/2, Jamestown 4/7/2

Mark Cohoon (ahem, my favorite Brooklyn pitcher, lol) went 7 solid innings tonight, giving up 3 runs on 6 hits for his 7th win of the season.

The Conies hammered out 13 hits and drew 8 walks, but were just 4 for 15 (.267) with RISP, and left 12 on base. Sam Honeck had a perfect game with 4 hits and a walk, he, Nick Santomauro (2) and Matt Gaski (perfect game 2 hits, 2 walks) had multi hit games, while Robbie Shields (0 for 5, RBI, .145), moved into the leadoff spot, took the only 0-fer.

Matias Carrillo 2 IP, H, ER, K, HR, 2.25 era, 2:3:1

APPY R: Kingsport 2/7/4, Johnson City 6/13/2

Jhonathan Torres got blitzed for 5 runs (4 earned) on 8 hits in 4.2 innings for his 4th Appy loss. Torres hasn't yet had what I'd call a good start in the Appy League (either due to ineffectiveness or shortness of outing). Guillaume LeDuc had a good outing in long relief, allowing 4 hits and an UER in 3.1 innings, but the Mets managed very little on offense, just 7 hits and 2 walks, while going 1 for 9 (.111) with RISP, leaving 8 on base. Jeff Flagg (0 for 4, 2 Ks, .316), Cesar Puello (0 for 4, 3 Ks, .260), John Semel (0 for 4, K, .223) and Juan Torres (0 for 4, 3 Ks, .357) all took 0-fers, while RJ Harris (3) had the only multi hit game.

  1. What the hell happened to Ike Davis . When I didn't see him night before last in the boxscore I thought maybe he had been promoted to AAA . But he didn't show up there tonight or at AA . Please don't tell me he torn up a knee or something that would be associated with the big team !

  2. Tej found it in the Binghamton paper . They say he is day to day with a strain in his rib cage ! Might as well let him rest it up till he is 100% nothing to gain by rushing him back in this lost season !
